My self-summary
Update: I really want to make friends with people that love to garden, and wouldn't mind showing me the ropes or splitting a plot at a community garden.

I just moved here after living and cooking in Minneapolis for a the past year. I was in Austin before that for cooking as well, and now I'm finally back to Chicago. I'm mainly just looking for new friends and show buddies. Hooray?

I'm into cooking, music, standup, tubing down rivers, and trying to get out to springs to swim as much as possible. I'm also usually inventing some sort of new burrito. My latest was a vegan panang curry burrito with thai peanut/cashew sauce and a spicy basil curry paste.

I cook professionally for a living. I want to open up my own restaurant eventually. That will be quite a while down the road though.

I'm on the never ending quest for certaintea, and looking for lunch in all the wrong places.

People find it weird that I don't drink caffeine and haven't for years.
What I’m doing with my life
I guess I'm unsure of what I really want to do in the future, but right now I'm enjoying life as much as I can. I guess I know that what I want to do in the future involves making awesome food all the time and telling stupid jokes.

"What can I say about the last five years with a dead blank stare and an empty beer?"
I’m really good at
Going to shows and having a good time. I guess I'm really good at making food. I really don't know what I'm that good at honestly. I don't really spend time awarding myself with compliments about things I've probably never did that well at in the first place.

Overthinking things when there's nothing to be thinking about. For example, thinking that I could have possibly not have turned the water in the shower all the way off.
The first things people usually notice about me
My ability to be extremely outgoing and I can talk to anyone at any time and anywhere. Sometimes this does get me into trouble though.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a fan of Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Ginsberg, Bukowski, and others. Also, I do realize I'm a nerd for the beat generation, and I'm quite okay with it.

I'm a fan of pop punk and punk related music such as descendents, dillinger four, the arrivals, toys that kill, bent outta shape, underground railroad to candyland, banner pilot, iron chic, latterman, mean jeans, scared of chaka, tiltwheel, the dopamines, gravy train!!!, Le Tigre and tons more. I also enjoy folk/blues/indie, I'm open to all types of music.

When it comes to food, I'm at a loss for the decision between pizza or a burrito. Life is hard sometimes when it comes to deciding between the two. I'm also usually seeking out all the best restaurants, and it's normally what I do whenever I travel. I also am a total nerd for absolutely incredible fine dining experience.

I guess movies you could say I'm really into the Evil Dead trilogy and the horror genre in general. I'm all about cheesy horror movies. I also like comedies/thrillers/dramas. I guess it really depends on the mood I'm in? Weekend at Bernies 1 and 2, as well as wayne's world 1 and 2.

Tv Shows: Futurama, Shameless, Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Portlandia, Breaking Bad, Eastbound and Down, The Simpsons, King of the Hill
The six things I could never do without
My knives (for cooking, duh)
Jokes,
music,
burritos,
writing,
beer,
and whiskey (I can have 7 things if I want.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
In the words of D4: "So, I sat there drinking more thinking about drinking more."

How I can make the most creative and best burrito on the planet.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wondering what the hell happened to Steve? I heard he doesn't party no more.

I'm probably at either a show, a party or a bar.

When someone gets the Steve comment, I'm pretty sure we'll be best friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a Bruce Campbell tattoo, and that's not my most embarrassing tattoo.

I also ate a bad sandwich one time, and I don't share that with most people.
You should message me if
If you would like to discuss records or other things of interest.

You have good suggestions for food because I love food more than anything except for maybe shows and records.

Also, I take the internet extremely seriously. This is groundbreaking if you ask me.

You can understand sarcasm when you see it.

You have a good joke

You want to tell me about how the song Hip To Be Square by Huey Lewis and The News has a had a positive effect on your life at some point.
