My self-summary
i dislike talking about myself in this sort of context. i know that the point of this profile is to tell people about one's self but my opinion is that self description is never objective and you'll find more about the quality of someone's character through things done rather than things said.
i think if you want to know anything about anyone you gotta interact with them.

this is probably overly complex for this medium but oh well.

also i'm bad at self-summaries.

That being said, things I like to do include: hiking, traveling (just got back from a two and a half month trip across Southeast Asia), going to the beach, exploring the city, trying new restaurants and new types of food, reading, going to see live music and generally trying new things and being out of my comfort zone (I climbed a mountain/volcano, went scuba diving and taught myself how to drive a motorbike while traveling!) i've been pretty into fitness lately and am considering going for a spartan race (once i'm properly trained, of course). being someone who has never been athletic or played any sort of sports, that's definitely out of my comfort zone
What I’m doing with my life
listening to the vibes of the universe
I’m really good at
cats. they call me the cat whisperer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: for whom the bell tolls, lolita, one hundred years of solitude, a clockwork orange, slaughterhouse five, breakfast of champions, no exit, sophie's world, ethan frome, the picture of dorian grey, siddhartha, brave new world, hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, cat's cradle, etc., etc.
and i read a lot of non fiction. I love books. If you know of something you think I might like, hook it up

it's a personal goal to have my own library so i buy used books whenever i see them. random used book stands on new york city streets are another reason i love summer. i like to think that every book i buy is one step closer to that goal.

shows: archer, arrested development, game of thrones, breaking bad, doctor who, house of cards, flight of the concords, scrubs, the colbert report, anthony bourdain (mostly I'm just jealous of his life and spend the whole show plotting how I can have his job)

movies: the big lebowski, before sunrise/ before sunset, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, the truman show, donnie darko, life is beautiful, kill bill, fear and loathing in las vegas, gladiator, pulp fiction, etc. etc.

music: PHISH, if you like phish, we'll probably get along. i would say my music preferences are pretty eclectic. i like everything from reggae to indie to gypsy punk. its more fun this way.

I love all kinds of food. I recently spent three months in Asia so you'd think I'd be sick of it. Nope. Have been craving Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian food more and more. Some other favorites are sushi, Spanish, French and Hispanic food. basically give me all of the food
The six things I could never do without
