I tend to think about the future constantly, whether that's about where we're likely to be in 10 years to the far future I'll never see. I like to dream about different things and create worlds in my own mind.
I enjoy talking about almost anything, from history and philosophy to video games and Star Wars to cats and birds. Try talking to me about stuff; even if I'm not familiar, I'll probably be interested to learn more about it if you have the time and inclination to explain.
And I like pie. But then, who doesn't?
I love this arrangement: I get to give my friends a break financially with big discounts to their rent and a landlord they can negotiate with, which allows them to stop having to worry about survival for a while and concentrate on the stuff they need and want out of life (getting their degree, finding better jobs, getting a reliable car, etc).
Recently, I've had the distinct pleasure of watching several of my friends go from working retail and fast food jobs to becoming rising stars at medium- and large-scale offices after moving in. All this, and I get some money in my pocket and have my friends nearby in case I want to go do something! I never thought being a home owner could be this fulfilling!
I finally plan to get my scuba certification this coming summer when I have the time. I've always loved diving while growing up, so being able to do so without having to go on special guided tours will be fun for trip I take in the future!
Otherwise, I'm working as a consultant DBA, while also trying to get certified as a DBA so I can earn higher pay for the same work I do. I *suck* at tests thanks to severe text anxiety, plus my work has gotten very demanding recently thanks to a transfer to a new project, so I suddenly find myself too exhausted to study for it. I've set this summer as my next attempt...fingers crossed!
I'm also good at saying it like it is and giving advice when others present their problems for me to solve...though convincing people to actually follow said advice is another matter. I'm also good at just sitting there and shutting up when people need to vent. It's all a matter of what people need from me at that time.
Finally, I'm really good at being both patient and persistent (read: stubborn like a bull). It's the foundation of most of my success in life, though I try to focus it on tasks and things rather then people. Wouldn't give it up for all the tea in China!
The next physical thing people notice is that my eyes change color. They've been everything from blue to green, usually based on mood.
b) After a LONG hiatus from the movie watching scene, I'm finally willing to go out and watch movies and rent videos. Don't know why I stopped, probably because I didn't have enough money for those and video games, and given the choice, it's no contest that VGs would win. Still don't like horror/thriller movies, though, and movies with "pointlessly downer" or "stupidly downer" endings leave me hating them, too, but I'll generally watch anything else if it's good.
c) Tons of internet shows out there, WAY too many to list completely, but here are a few I'm watching now: Nostalgia Critic, Atop The Fourth Wall, Death Battle, Dragon Ball Z Abridged, Vsauce, MinutePhysics, CGPGrey, Extra Credits and Jimquisition.
d) Nightwish if my favorite band, hands down. Only band I've ever been to a show for, and they will remain so until the end of time. So that makes me a...classical...punk rock...fan? Otherwise, I like just about anything - my playlist has video game music (and I mean mp3 loops of acutal game music, not just remixes), rap, jazz, 90s pop, and some rare country songs among others - in general, whatever's currently playing is what I like.
e) Eel sushi. Also chocolate and pizza. And steak and pasta and seafood and...lots of stuff, really. The only things I don't like and will not eat are things with lettuce in them, and type (hence why I consider "nutrition" to be such a big deal for me: nobody offers good non-lettuce salads at restaurants). If I haven't tried it before, then so long as someone else can be there to show me good stuff (and/or share the pain), I'll be game to try it.
f) As for games, I have so many I like, but these are the ones that are in my short list to play again and talk your ear off on: Quest For Glory, Zelda, Space Quest, Myst, Broken Sword, Xenogears,Chrono Trigger,Armored Core,C&C Red Alert 2, and F.E.A.R.
Otherwise, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I like just about anything, from Tetris to Sims, Mario to Sonic, Infinity and Beyond! I've gotten a Wii U recently and am slowly adapting to the fact I now have friends who like to play games, too, so I'm starting to get into local multiplayer stuff.
Seriously, my imagination is usually where I'm at if I'm not actively doing something. I can entertain myself quite well, so I'm never bored while alone (though being with others is usually much more interesting).
When not in some fantastic realm of my own creation, I'm usually thinking of the latest youtube video that I've seen recently, or about the most recent game I've played, or what my friends are up to. If I'm in the mood to be serious minded, I think about the world's state of affairs, business and finances, science, philosophy, history, religion...any number of things.
And how hugely, mind-bogglingly big space is, and how the walk down to the pharmacist is peanuts compared to space. So big that a disc-shaped planet on four giant elephants on top of a turtle is probably hurtling through it right now...
And strawberry cheesecake. Mmmm, cheesecake!
Did I mention I can laugh at almost ANYthing...?
I've been in non-monogamous relationships before, and might consider them again in the future. But if I get into a relationship now, I would prefer to at least start as fully monogamous.
