My self-summary
Ma'hanibu eebowai!

Committed to personal growth, making the world a slightly better place, and loyal to a fault. Loves animals and tattoos.

A little awkward, but good-hearted.

Ooh, also growing my hair out. Summer is going to be topknot time!

"Life is uncertainty. Maturity is learning how to roll with it". -me
What I’m doing with my life
Currently on a ten month term of service with NYC Service/AmeriCorps. Six days a week I work for a pretty well-known nonprofit here in the city, and on Saturdays you can find me helping run and supervise educational programs and running debriefs.

In a funny way, playing MMO's kind of prepared me for that management role.

I'm working towards learning how to program and develop - I do work in Python and JavaScript mainly, and I sold my first program last fall! My current project is a bit of neat data analysis to help vets upgrade their discharge status - especially if they were booted under a certain law Obama repealed. (Can ya guess which law is that?)

Next steps are going to be finding a job in development/programming, and I'm thinking hard about grad school.

In my spare time I enjoy learning how/improving at the things I do. Bouldering at BKB, calligraphy, running, and overall fitness. I also recently started going back to church. (Not to worry, I don't proselytize or think my religion is better than yours or others).
I’m really good at
Hulk strong! No, really. I used to be over a couple hundred pounds and lost it over three years.

Animals. They really like me!
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a trio of tattoos, so that has got to be the first things that most people notice about me.

I've been told I've got a nice shoulder to waist ratio too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like my entertainment like the Book of Mormon. Satirical, thought-provoking, and comedic.

I'm a huge fan of shows like Seinfeld, Always Sunny, and of course, ARCHER. Adam Reed is an incredible writer and the animation is so much fun to watch - it's like a comic book coming to life.

When it comes to food, spicy and rice-y! Kidding - I can do without the rice since I was raised on it, but I really enjoy foods like kimchee, and jigae. I'd die probably without fresh fruits and vegetables.

Music - Mainly alternative, but holy crow there are SO many choices out there. Suggest away - I like bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Arcade Fire, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Movies! Shawshank Redemption and Big Fish have to go here. Beatlejuice, Nolan's Batman Trilogy + Inception, and yes, Disney movies.
The six things I could never do without
My cats. Whatever happens, I know that Athena will be there cuddling with me every night. They ground me and make me more loving.

Time off - For three months, I worked seven days a week. I will never again try that.

Currently, a baseball cap - I've been growing my hair out, and without it it'd be a tangled bird's nest. Let's go Mets!

That's all for now. :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
WWGCD? (What would George Costanza do?)

Where can I buy these crispy coconut spring rolls? These things are the best snack ever.

How is Dennis Reynolds so amazingly insane?

And seriously: how can I be the best person I can be, and who does this guy look like physically, mentally, and spiritually?
On a typical Friday night I am
When I've got time off, you might find me practicing calligraphy, getting a burrito, trying to get over the V2 hump at BKB, working out, hiking with friends, or playing pool. (I stink - trying to get better).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Right Arm: Love, Truth, Courage, Balance.
Left shoulder: Be the light.
Left breastbone: Victory.

I'm on reddit.
You should message me if
If you think we'd connect.

If you want to go boulder or shoot pool with me, or if you've ever played video games!

If you are amused with wordplay like this:

Friend: Does anyone know Yancy?
Me: No, but he sounds fancy. Does he live on Delancey?
Friend: That was lame.
Me: Don't be so antsy. It can be chancey, kind of like necromancy.

You think long-term: Schemes, plans, people, relationships.
