My self-summary
l'm a traveler and adventure seeker at heart, though responsibilities seem to get in the way of me giving into that part of myself lately. I would love to spend a few months backpacking and volunteering around SE Asia in the next year or 2 (want to come with?), but in the meantime I try to be a tourist in my own backyard. The Twin Cities really have a lot to offer in terms of music, art and food. I love camping and am incredibly excited that spring has finally arrived - can't wait to break out the tent and get out of the city.

I'm pretty easy to get along with. Laid back, but passionate when passion is called for. I'm sarcastic, sometimes to a fault. Compassion, courage, and authenticity are things I admire and try to embody.

I had a short lived career in my 20's working as a political and union organizer, but in the end it just wasn't for me. Incredibly rewarding at times, but draining. I currently work in finance (It's not ideal, but I'm not complaining), and plan to eventually head back to school to pursue a journalism degree. I'm also making small strides towards starting my own business.

I live on Eat Street with a roommate. It's a great neighborhood.

I can cook well, most of the time.

I like to listen to NPR and drink coffee (or sometimes Bloody Marys) on Sundays.

I smoke cigarettes on occasion. It's a horrible habit and I plan to quit, but am not looking for someone who nags (too much) about it.

I think about joining a gym. Haven't yet. I'm always up for a bike ride or run in the non-winter months, though.

Ok, there's a lot more, just ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it, and always trying to do that well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I watch a lot of documetaries.

As far as music goes, my library is vast and varied. Sometimes I listen to the Current, other times I'm blaring a jazz, classical or opera Spotify station.

I love to eat/cook and will try almost anything. Spicy is good. So is bacon. Picky eaters annoy me, but that's certainly something I could overlook. ;-)

I just finished reading The Art of Power by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Buddhist monk and activist. I'm currently reading Plato's The Republic for a free online class offered by Yale.
