I am perceptive, communicative, generous in spirit, warmhearted, loving, and affectionate. I have a strong constitution but a gentle spirit. I see the world more in shades of gray (and a spectrum of color) than everything as either black or white. I work hard, but in my personal life I have a mellow / laid-back personality. I am independent-minded but am not a contrarian. I have a good sense of humor (but then again everyone thinks that they have a good sense of humor) and appreciate other peoples' humor as well. I am not a controlling person. I think it is really important that each person in a relationship has the time and room to be with friends and do things outside of the relationship, in order for the relationship to grow and reach its potential. I do not think that I know everything, am right all of the time or have a need to be right all of the time. I am not a crazed sports fan, but I enjoy tennis, baseball, soccer and basketball.
I am socially and politically aware. I believe in social and economic justice. My political philosophy aligns with liberal to moderate Democrats.
I do not have any children and am not planning on having children of my own, but I am willing to develop a long-term relationship with a woman if she has a child/children. I love kids' curiosity, creativity, playfulness, and honesty.
Is internet dating considered "natural" selection? I think it is more art than science, but when it gets to the point where they are using people's pheromone samples with any measure of success, please let me know.
Although it is not my first choice, if after getting to know someone in person for a while where we both "clicked" really well with each other, I would be willing to relocate for love and a promising long-term relationship. Even though I am a social person, in a dating context I am a bit shy in the early stages.

I love the song by Minnie Ripperton titled, "Lovin' You" which reminds of life in the 70s.
Even though I'm in government affairs in DC, I do not have a type-A personality and would not be well suited with someone who is high strung, intense or "on" all of the time in their personal life outside of work. I would enjoy being with a woman who has a relaxed personality in her personal life. I am looking for a committed, monogamous relationship with potential for a life-time relationship.
I am looking for my soul mate rather than looking for each of us to be each others' functionaries. When it comes to doing things around the house such as cooking , cleaning , etc. I am not into old fashioned roles between a man and a woman. I think balanced burden sharing is an important aspect of a relationship. I believe in making important decisions together.
