My self-summary
I enjoy listening to other people and exploring their points of view. Conversation with new and old friends energizes me, and I am enthusiastic about activities that bring different kinds of people together (hiking, speaking multiple languages). I am patient and sometimes reserved but have learned to speak my mind. I love laughing and am willing to see the ridiculous in myself. Courage, flexibility, integrity, and generosity are the virtues I strive to practice in my life. Also, I keep on going!
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work as a retail bookseller and am enjoying freedom from sitting in front of a computer screen. I enjoy interacting with both customers and my colleagues. In the past I have worked as a copy editor of engineering textbooks. I also spent several years as a freelance book editor doing copyediting and proofreading for university presses, in addition to editing a literary anthology about California architecture that was published in 2010.
I’m really good at
Writing and helping others to improve their writing. In addition, I am a good conversationalist and public speaker. I also have a gift for remembering names and details.
