My self-summary
I'm compassionate, creative, and a little bit crazy. I lose my mind if I don't have some sort of creative outlet (it can be as simple as coloring). I derive my joy from bringing happiness to others. I knit, I read, I goof around on the guitar, I've recently started meditating but don't practice enough. I try to enjoy myself, even when life makes it hard to.
Right now I'm focusing on myself, doing what I want to do. Kayaking, hiking, reading, sleeping, dancing, getting back in shape, learning to ride a bike, making guacamole, cooking, watching movies, and having intelligent conversations and banter. I want to try new things, so if you've got suggestions, I'm open to them.
Oh, and I love to travel. Addicted.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm temping as a paraprofessional. I love working with children, but didn't find that out until I finished a bachelor's degree in English and Women's Studies a few years ago. I adore working in the public school system and I plan to go back to school to get my masters in Early Childhood Education.... probably. I'd always thought I'd teach high school English but quite honestly, I don't think I have the self esteem for it. Children are honest, and open, and heartless, and haven't been jaded by the world yet. Every day I spend with them brings me more joy. Beyond that, I want to travel as much as possible in what time I have. The world is huge, and I don't think I'll ever see enough of it.
I’m really good at
Listening to people, and figuring out how they think. I'm a very good friend, extremely loyal. Smart. A pretty decent writer. I feel things very strongly and occasionally manage to express those feelings. I'm incredibly passionate about many things. Ask me about them and I'll tell you.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, and my hair. I'm very short, and have unreasonably curly hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am attracted to talented lyricists. Books: Anything by Jeannette Winterson. If you like her, we'll have lots to talk about. I'm a huge fantasy and sci-fi nerd from back in the day, Tolkien and Douglas Adams and the like. John Fante, Ken Bruen, both beautiful lyrical writers. I'm curretnly reading Michae Cunningham's A Home At The End Of The World. Different genres appeal to me as long as its excellent writing. Also many, many others. Suggest a book that blows me away and I'm yours.

Movies: Love many; London Boulevard, Particles of Truth, A Home At The End Of The World, Seven Psychopaths, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Walk on Water, Star Wars... impossible to name them all.

Shows: Doctor Who, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Suits, Californication, Queer As Folk, The Office, and Avatar:The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
Six things I could never do without
Intellectual stimulation.
Intimate friendships.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Literally.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging out with my best friend or staying in with my cat, netflix, and my books. Or babysitting, more often then not.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I knit.
You should message me if
You don't mind a bit of a nerd.
If you like to try new things, think deep thoughts, and share them with others. You need to be open minded in terms of sexuality, identity, and feminism, as these things are dear to my heart and the ones I love. I have a deep well of compassion, understanding, and patience, and hope for someone who shares some of that. If you find me interesting, there's no harm in giving things a try :)
I don't judge people based on what they do or know how to do, but on what they're willing to try and to learn. I hope you'll do the same for me.
I'm a bit bored and a bit lonely, and I'm just looking for someone to get to know, hang out with, go on fun dates with, and see how things go.
