My self-summary
I'm sort of a witch (a good one, I swear), and sort of an activist, and sort of a whole bunch of other things too. I'm super into literature, and super into theater, and super into science, and super into history, and super into music, and super into social justice, and super into a whole lot of other things too. If you can't deal with passion, look elsewhere.
I found my first grey hair a few months ago, decided to lean into it, and have forsaken hair dye ever since.

My hobbies are numerous and seem to grow as I age, they include; jammin' on my planner, aromatherapy, essential oils, making my own natural body products, plotting the downfall of institutional racism and the patriarchy, instigating conversations about white privilege that make people sort of uncomfortable, watching superhero movies, knitting, attempting to find ways to solve the country's educational crisis, and so on.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm relatively fresh out of grad school with a masters and certification in elementary education, and struggling as much as all the other general education teachers in the CT job market. Every person who doesn't know me asks me why on earth I picked this career path when so many other teaching certifications are an easier job market, but I didn't pick this path because it was easy. I picked it because it brought me joy, I'm good at it, and I want to effect change. As far as what I'm doing with my life? Trying to leave the world slightly better off than had I not been a part of it at all.
I’m really good at
Listening to people, and figuring out how they think. Teaching. Empathy. Seeing both sides of most situations. Crafts. Sometimes, putting words to paper and changing people's minds.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, and my hair. I'm very short, and have unreasonably curly hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Literature. Books. I have a Bachelors in English Literature.... the classics, science fiction, African War literature, Native American Literature, British Literature, and everything in between. Anything by Jeannette Winterson. a huge fantasy and sci-fi nerd from back in the day, Tolkien and Douglas Adams and the like, and I'm more recently branching into comics. John Fante, Ken Bruen, Between The World And Me. Different genres appeal to me as long as its excellent writing. Also many, many others. Suggest a book that blows me away and I'm yours.

Movies: Love many; Practical Magic (the 90's dream is alive), London Boulevard, Particles of Truth, A Home At The End Of The World, Seven Psychopaths, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Walk on Water, Star Wars... impossible to name them all.

Shows: Parks and Recreation (Leslie Knope is everything I want to be), Doctor Who, 30 Rock, Master of None, Orange Is The New Black, Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Californication, Once Upon A Time, Anne With An E, Queer As Folk, The Office, Bojack Horseman, Bob's Burgers, Adventure Time, Archer, Avatar:The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
Six things I could never do without
Intellectual stimulation.
Intimate friendships.
Creative outlets.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to fix this mess. Feminism. White privilege. Implicit bias.
On a typical Friday night I am
As said earlier, jammin' on my planner. Also if we're painting a full picture, watching some netflix, eating some junkfood, and chilling with my best pal. Or working my second job bartending. Mostly Friday night's are murder on teachers and I'm happy with a good book or a good craft. That said I've been known to go out when the offer is tempting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm embarrassingly behind in the Marvel cinema-verse because of the marathon year+ I spent in grad school, and adamantly refuse to watch the movies out of chronological order. Judge me as you will.

I also won't pay for this premium nonsense, or whatever, because I'm a lady on a budget. So if you're just pressing that "like" button and hoping for a response you'll never get it.
You should message me if
Based on this profile, you genuinely think we'd hit it off. Don't waste my time, or yours, otherwise. It'll be awkward, and let's just avoid that.
If you like to try new things, think deep thoughts, and share them with others, lets grab a meal, or a drink, or explore an engaging activity together. You need to be open minded in terms of identity, sexuality, and feminism, as these things are dear to my heart and the ones I love. I have a deep well of compassion, understanding, and patience, and hope for someone who shares some of that.
I don't judge people based on what they do or know how to do right now, but on what they're willing to try and to learn. I hope you'll do the same for me.
