My self-summary
I care about the future of this planet and what is in store for the next 7 generations.
I want to leave a legacy of compassion and concern for people and all the other earthlings. I am very fortunate to be in this time of my life and this exciting and challenging time in human history. I am one of about 7 billion humans on a finite planet. I strive to model a simple lifestyle and spend time with my family and building community. I actively engage the public whenever I can concerning actions and behaviors necessary to shift the dominant consumptive paradigm towards that which is more sustainable. We can not be an industrial growth society anymore. In fact, we must consider stasis or negative growth and certainly reject conspicuous consumption, waste and leisure. Concepts developed by philosopher Thorsten Veblin. So-consider you role on this planet--are you a place holder/consumer or someone who cares about those humans and other earthlings that inherit the ramifications of your behaviors.
I enjoy my time at the university but also being at home growing and preserving food, cutting firewood and spending time with my kids and my animals.
Nature is my muse. I would like to spend a year just creating art and writing poetry. I am grateful for my existence and all the animals and people that have shared with me on the journey.

I am looking for a man that is aware and engaged in life--isn't afraid of the challenges. He doesn't drown his insecurities in drugs and alcohol and tends not to complain. He is grounded and earthy. Knows the value of healthy ecosystems and fresh, clean water. He reads a lot. He loves himself and this is reflected in his ability to have compassion and empathy for all sentient beings.
