Yeah so I don't like writing about myself... Well shit, guess this thing won't let me get off that easy.
I like good times with friends and doing shit outside. I think, dream, debate, discover and imagine. I like beer, movies, music and good food. I can be happy as a homebody or being social. I'm crass, sarcastic and occasionally awkward. I'm easy going and my humor tends toward unfortunately bad puns. For friends I get along best with smartasses and geeks. For lovers pervy nerdy girls. As long as you like to talk about random ideas we'll get along great. I'm of a liberal slant but pick issue by issue rather than subscribing to any particular political perspective.
I am inquisitive, introspective, and imaginative.
Books: I don't read much fiction these days... most of my reading time goes to indulging my technical curiosity in non-fiction. Past fav reads: Demian, Siddartha and Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse, Nausea by Sartre, Still-life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins. Ubik by Phillip K Dick. various Neil Stephenson and William Gibson. My sci-fi dirty pleasure series is Honor Harrington by David Weber.
Music: If I was trapped on the desert island with only 1 cd to listen to it'd be Massive Attack's Mezzanine. I love it for the melancholy techno songs, not the dub stuff. Right now I'm really liking Mt Eden, Bassnectar, M83, The Radio Dept., Nosaj Thing and lots of music off blogs. Other bands I've liked over the years: Amon Tobin, Hybrid, Nine Inch Nails, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Machines of Love and Grace, Four Tet, Goldfrapp, BT, Future Sound of London, Circle of Dust, Hammock, Ladytron, Trentemoller, The Knife, Fischerspooner, Woob, Yasume, Royksopp, Strength, Andre Nicketana, !!!, Boards of Canada, M83. I like lots of music, but really tend to stuff with an melodic or ambient electronic vibe.
Food: I love it all from upscale to divey. So much good food in Portland. I'm not a great cook but I'm having fun learning. I'm a happy omnivore but saddened by our food industry and try to make practical sustainable choices.
