My self-summary
Modest, if anything.

I would probably leave it there, but apparently OkCupid insists on a 100 character minimum. Which is unappreciated.

I like music and films and people and food and smoking and things that are bad for you and friends and things people like in general.

I don't know...

Oh, I'm sorry if it looks like I've visited your page half a billion times. I am not a stalker, just forgetful. I'm also occasionally hyperbolic.

Note: I would very much like to change my name on here, but don't want to pay for that privilege. As such, a brief explanation - I've been using this as a screenname since I was 15, and it comes from the name of a Pitchshifter album. I am not a fan anymore. I am also not really a deviant. Thought you might like to know.
What I’m doing with my life
I officially graduated from my Journalism, Film and Media Studies course last year. After an excruciatingly long period of 'economic inactivity', I've started a job in customer service. LADIES! GET IN MY MERCEDES!

In addition to that I'm writing on a casual basis for a website called Pixels or Death, as well as my own blog. I want to use these to get on to a PGDip course in the next couple of years. 'Cause I'm a baller, yo. I hope you like getting balled.

Apparently I can't stop making Community references today...

(Want an example of my writing? Here. It's all shiny and new too.)
I’m really good at
I *like* to play guitar. A lot. To the point where my fingers bleed.

...not really that much. They've never bled. Merely...throbbed. Regardless, I enjoy it. Which is not to say that I am good.

Apart from that, I can't think of much that I'd say I'm good at. I have a more than generous general knowledge?

Again, I like to think I'm good at writing. In the sense that I've written stuff that I actually like. And been published a couple of times. Admittedly, largely for a student magazine...

Also, I am reasonably good at games though often feel ashamed about this.

This makes it look like I'm only interested in guitars, writing and games. Massively inaccurate. Will fix eventually.
The first things people usually notice about me
Currently, I imagine it's my very ginger beard. This probably won't stay around for long though - it rarely does these days - so...from what I've been told, I give off an unapproachable aura. Which is probably a bad thing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I tend to go in cycles of what I love most. Some years, it's books. Some years, it's movies. This year has been games. Maybe next year will be a music year again.

Books = I don't have as much time to read as I'd like, but I really enjoy it.

J.D. Salinger - Franny and Zooey
Milan Kundera - The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Terry Pratchett - Small Gods
Mark Z. Danielewski - House of Leaves
Stephen Chbosky - The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Mary Doria Russell - The Sparrow (honestly, if you're into sci-fi, read this)
Daniel Keyes - Flowers For Algernon

Movies = I like all sorts of movies, but rarely go the cinema. I prefer to wait till something comes out on DVD and then watch it over and over again until I am bored of it. If I really like something, it won't be watched too many times because I don't want to get bored of it. Logic at work.

Mulholland Drive, American Beauty, The Man Who Wasn't There, Sweet and Lowdown, Primer, Let The Right One In.

Music = I'm into far much to put here. As such, I'll just give my

I feel I should point out that this doesn't necessarily indicate everything I listen to. Merely things I listen to on Rhythmbox.

Food = I pretty much just love all Italian foods. Easy to please.

Games = I realise games aren't meant to be part of this list, but I love games. Totally. I wrote about them for my dissertation (and several other essays at uni). Games are good.

Chrono Trigger ,Final Fantasy 6/7/8/9, Braid (Play this. Go get Steam. Play it now.), Portal, Day of the Tentacle, Jet Set Radio, Max Payne 1/2, Fez, The Binding of Isaac.

TV = I don't really watch much these days, preferring to order series on DVD instead. This inevitably leads to hungover DVD watching of entire seasons...

Twin Peaks, The Sopranos, Community (#SixSeasonsandaMovie), Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad.
The six things I could never do without
My acoustic guitar/s.
My moderately sized but incredible circle of friends.
My grandfather's ring.
My record player.
24/7 internet access. After about two hours away, I feel about ready to massacre people. Sorry.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
'Why am I wasting time doing this? I should be doing something else. Ah, but doing something else takes up way more energy than doing this...ok, how about I have a snack and then do it?...'

This goes on ad infinitum. Nothing ever gets done in my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, usually. It's...not fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a serious love for webcomics.

Especially QC.
You should message me if
If you have decent musics to recommend, or vice versa. I also make pretty mean mixes.

If you want a good conversation. I will try my best to offer.

If you can explain why so many of my matches are bisexual. Seriously, I've only ever known two bisexuals IRL, and relatively few gay people. Either my real life is not representative or okcupid isn't. The same applies here with vegetarians - I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

If you're awesome. Seriously.

If you're a real life Ramona Flowers. Without the seven evil exes.

If you are a redhead. Redheads are great.

If you need some c-c-c-coke inspiration. Alternatively if you get that reference.

If you can fight like a krogan and run like a leopard. Please be aware that you will never be better than Commander Shepard. (Different reference to this. Sorry for party rocking.)
