My self-summary
Why hello there.
Welcome to my profile. Please no flash photography. You should have no more baggage than you can stow in your overhead compartment.

I live for great food & drink, art & design, music, film and interesting architecture.

I prefer...
quality over quantity,
fashion over fad,
debate over argument,
silly over snarky,
2 wheels over 4,
sweat over guilt,
hiking over camping,
rain over snow (though I am into snowboarding & cross country skiing),
eggs over easy,
bourbon over ice.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I switched to eLearning from advertising a couple of years ago. Am much more satisfied at the end of the day.
I have a 100 year old house and a hyperactive dog that take up a lot of my down time.
I’m really good at
Seeing patterns all around me. Listening to background noise and hearing music. Making and taking a joke. Also, I bake a pretty mean chocolate chip cookie.
The first things people usually notice about me
You tell me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Unfortunately I don't have as much time to read for pleasure as I used to, but have gone on stints where I will read everything by a particular author. Am a fan of Kurt Vonnegut, John Irving, Ken Kesey, Douglas Coupland, Neal Stephenson and Tom Robbins.
Just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain. So good.

Music: Too many to list but here are some favorites:
Pogo, The Postal Service, Boards of Canada, Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, The Cocteau Twins, Curve, Fatboy Slim, Washed Out, Girltalk, Soul Coughing, Dave Brubeck, Tycho, Underworld, and early Van Halen.

Film: I'm a big fan of animation, horror, sci-fi, documentaries and indie films. But really anything good.

TV: Don't watch too much, but there are a few shows I really enjoy. I'm pretty excited about The Expanse and Mr. Robot at the moment.

Food: Pretty much everything (though I do get squeamish if my food has eyes). Not a full fledged Epicurean, but can definitely talk the talk. I was a vegetarian for a couple of years, but decided life was not worth living without a really good burger from time to time. Oh, and oysters... I love you oysters. Call me.
The six things I could never do without
• Access to great restaurants/museums/theaters
• Really great coffee/bourbon/olive oil
• New music
• The internet
• Exercise, preferably outdoors
• Saturday mornings
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, global warming, why things are the way they are and how they got that way, how much exercise will that beer/burger/brownie cost me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Fridays I usually want to chill after a long week. Drinks and dinner are cool, but staying up past midnight is best for Saturdays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am telepathic, but only with dogs.
You should message me if
You wanna.
