My self-summary
I play music for a living, and there is nothing that brings me greater joy or satisfaction.
The most important aspect of my character is my faith as a Christian. That being said, I'm not a regular church attendee...
The free donuts are nice, but the music it terrible, and I find the whole protestant paradigm to be something of an anachronism. My faith However, is integral to my life so I'm still only interested in dating other Christians. Ipso facto: online dating.
Nothing matters to me like my friends and family matter to me.
I tend to be a little misanthropic, but I'm working on it.
I was raised in the outdoors and my home is in the mountains.
I don't drink but I like a little whiskey.
A cup of coffee will ruin my day, but the illusion of culture and sophistication experienced while killing time in most coffee shops/cafes/bookstores is curiously satisfying.
I am sarcastic to a fault at times.
I am not an avid exerciser, but if you chase me, I can run.
I used to be a competitive snowboarder.
I tend to be slow out of the gate, but with a strong finish.
I love solitude, but when I'm with you, I'm all there.
I prefer quality to quantity.
We will undoubtedly spend time deconstructing the impression of me that this bio gives you.
What I’m doing with my life
Doing what I'm really good at.
I’m really good at
Playing music. All genres but I earned both my degrees in jazz performance. As of late I've found myself touring across the pond and in the studio with some indie-electronica-ish outfits. I mostly play drums, but I can hold my own on a piano. I also have been known to sing from time to time and my guitar playing is sufficiently not terrible enough to fool people who aren't really listening that hard...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
No idea how to begin any of these lists really... I like reading and I'd love to have heady conversations with you about literature, but I don't want to just list a bunch of books without at least a little interrogation...
I love movies, but don't ever watch TV.
I'm a snob when it comes to music so I'll probably inadvertently patronize you at some point (force of habit, I'm not really judging you).
I don't expect you to care about music as much as I do, I just hope you have some appreciation for creative endeavors in general.
I imagine the specifics are probably better as 1st date conversation fodder...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to answer all these questions in a manner that makes me sound intelligent, funny, and compassionate, yet ever so slightly and irresistibly melancholy...
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out playing music or at home writing it.
...er I mean, on the couch, with you, wrapped in a blanket, sharing a glass of pinot noir.....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...on a public dating website?
You should message me if
you've fallen into my trap.
