My self-summary
I'm all over the map, in as many senses as I can think of for that. There's not a field I'm not interested in, and all I ask of anyone is curiosity and deep engagement in whatever they've chosen to pursue.

Though I've made my way out West, I'm still a New Yorker, and I lament how this city doesn't know how to ride the subway right.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an Economist, but after focusing on work for a while, I'm focusing on everything else right now. I spend my days climbing mountains, skiing, trail running, biking in the Headlands, and generally buying too much gear.

Whenever I'm not out of breath, I'm trying to learn every instrument. I used to be an actual drummer and singer, but I'm at least backup-worthy on ukulele, piano, guitar, trumpet and harmonica these days.

On the side of all that, I'm studying Universal Basic Income, trying to come up with effective ways to fund it, and potential pitfalls thereof.
I’m really good at
Pepping up depressing songs by playing them on the ukulele.
The first things people usually notice about me
Energy! My spirit dog is a border collie (though as part of a more detailed story, my spirit animal is a white squirrel. And no, you don't choose your spirit animal; it chooses you).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, you know, lots of stuff. Basically everything that everyone else likes plus most film, music, and literary genres that start with 'experimental'.

I maintain I'm the only person to have listened to Einstein on the Beach as pump-up music in the Squaw parking lot.
Six things I could never do without
Thai curry
Fancy cocktails
The open road
The serenity to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
The wisdom to know the difference
(jokessss I promise I'm not that insufferable)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space, mostly. It's so big and gravity is so weird.
On a typical Friday night I am
Seething at people who only wrote "there is no typical" here.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I started curling out of an almost certainly misplaced notion that maybe they'd let me in the Olympics one day.
You should message me if
You're as smart as you are adventurous.
You like to foster open communication.
You're looking for a real connection.
