My self-summary
Hey, my name is Mike.

I'm generally pretty chill, I'm a kid at heart, I love dirty and twisted humor, and I'm not afraid to be myself. I wouldn't say I'm non-conformist, but I generally don't care I don't fit in with the crowd.

I'm a single father of two boys, I work full time in Manhattan, and haven't really been doing that much for fun recently. I just moved from Staten Island to Old Bridge, so I'm still getting to know the area.

Had a few ups, a lot of downs recently and I'm starting to warm up to the idea of a relationship again. A good, quick summary that describes me: I'm a progressive, liberal, atheist, gamer who enjoys nerdy/geeky things and the simple pleasures in life. Also, I've been told that I'm rather cuddly, for what it's worth.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, playing, doing stuff with my kids.
I’m really good at
Logic, problem solving, and games. I pretend to be a musician, singer, and writer. I am a little shy at times, but otherwise I'm a great communicator and have no trouble talking about my ideas, thoughts, feelings, and needs. I'm great at remembering useless information. I'm pretty good turning anything into a dirty joke, too. I also like good puns/wordplay, but I think I love bad ones (groaners) even more, lol
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm a generic fat guy with a red beard. I have dimples, too and I laugh a lot, most of the time. Also, that I'm not some macho, neanderthal type. I'm very in tune with my emotions, not afraid to cry, and I'm generally compassionate and understanding.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV (current): Doctor Who, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The IT Crowd, Firefly, Louie, The Office (UK & US), Derek (UK), Trailer Park Boys, Blacks Books, Alphas, The Legend of Korra, Tosh.0, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Love, @midnight, South Park, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and random stuff that I watch with my kids. This list is much longer, as I recently spent a lot of time binge watching a bunch of stuff, but I'll save the rest for conversation, should we connect.

Movies: I can't list all my favorite movies, as there are too many of them. At the top, I suppose I could list the MCU movies, The Butterfly Effect, Goon, The Matrix, The Fifth Element, Safety Not Guaranteed, and Deadpool. I generally like comedies, dramas, sci-fi or fantasy stuff (or some combination therein).

Music: Mostly rock/metal/metalcore/blues type stuff, but I'll mostly listen to anything that's good and has substance to it. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Metallica, DragonForce, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Alter Bridge, Tremonti, and the big "I am The Doctor" medly from youtube (Think Doctor Who Series 5 episode background music...it's seriously some of the best music ever and I love that 7/8's time signature https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcKeXjAJfjw).

Food: My taste in food is kind of all over the place. Most of the time, I'm pretty basic, like meat and potatoes. I generally prefer savory over sweet. I sometimes find myself interested in fine cuisine, but never find myself actually wanting to cook or go out of my way to obtain it. When I cook, I tend to cook simple things, mostly because I have to cook for the 3 of us and my kids are rather picky.

Games: I like table top games, like Dominion, Munchkin, Machi Koro, Exploding Kittens, King of Tokyo, and Blokus; but I also like card games (especially Euchre), collectible card games, role playing games, Pokémon Go, and PC games (think World of Warcraft, DC Universe Online, Borderlands 2, Minecraft, The Diablo Series, and most every game that Blizzard currently makes).
The six things I could never do without
My kids (until they're old enough to carve out a life of their own)

Good Music (Cathartic)

Good People (My friends and family)

Creative Outlets for my imagination (Writing, singing, creating something)

Fun Games to play (I like games that bring people together)

Laughter and other emotions (I'm far more in touch with my emotions than the average guy. I don't shy away from them, either)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random things. My mind is usually busy doing something and there's usually a song playing in my head at all times. I spend a lot of time thinking about my mistakes, things I should have done better, things I should BE doing better, how I could actually do those things better, and random crap stimulated by the random things that happen every day. I have like a 1.5hour+ commute to and from work every day, so that's a lot of time to think about stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home with my kids, Pokémon hunting, watching Netflix, or playing some game after I've put them to bed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will answer pretty much any question - there's very little I'm not forthcoming about. Consequently - I don't "flirt", in the traditional sense. I don't say complimentary things to get someone to like me, I don't play hard to get, and I generally don't like playing any type of "game" when it comes to the dating and relationships. However, if I do say something complementary, it means that I actually feel that way.
You should message me if
...if you're interested? Definitely message me if you cry a lot while watching Doctor Who ("Vincent and the Doctor", especially). And, more importantly, if you're okay with dating an overweight, bearded man with 2 children. I know I'm pretty hard on myself, but I think I have something to offer and that I'm more than the sum of my parts. Also, I prefer to date someone with similar interests, who is adept at communicating feelings and needs, and who wants to be a partner in life. Not interested in princesses, drama, or games. I crave strong emotional connections, trust, sympathy, understanding, and someone with whom I can enjoy the simple things in life. I'm looking to find "the easy silence" with someone again.
