My self-summary
First, last, and always a Gentleman (thanks mom). Tech Exec by day, Musician, Writer, Producer by night. Enjoy physical / outdoor activities, live shows out, nights in just kickin' it, health conscious, spiritually in-tune (but not religious), off key humor, intellectually serious, frequently funny, sometimes goofy, down to earth, up to no good (not really), fiscally conservative, socially liberal, financially set, empty nest, organically oriented, technologically advanced, mechanically inclined (they call me Mc Guyver), macro interest with micro focus, globally conscious, locally grown, well traveled, well read, well educated, well well well :-)

New to the area (Norcal transplant), looking for "real" people down here (body and soul). No interest in the "image" mentality (what you drive, what you wear, where you work), interested in who you are and whats your story.

Dad of two teens (boy and girl) (raised them full time until recently, now one to college and the other to boarding school (Harvard bound).
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get my zen on, playing guitar, piano, drums, writing songs, sailing a bit, working on life balance, and a little NFL xbox time to wind down. Like to take great vacations - photo safaris in Africa, sailing in Norway/Sweden, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, Pyramids in Mexico, Island life in Hawaii, Roman baths, Vatican City, Paris (of course), Ashrams in India, Canadian Rockies, up for anything as long as its interesting (and not like hiking in Iran).
I’m really good at
Living mindfully
The first things people usually notice about me
"I was never there"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have little time for pleasure reading (enough with work stuff), but if I do its classic poetry or novels (Pope, Frost, Dickens, Joyce, Dickens, Maugham, Hammett). Anything Oscar Wilde (we won't have to look for work and it wont have to look for us). Read the Bible probably 50 times, and once for the Qur'an, Torah, Kangyur, and some of the Vedas.

Like movies, don't watch TV much (except Garfunkel & Oats and The Black List), Two years of film history so my taste are wide ranging on flicks, just looking for a good story well told (Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, Lawrence of Arabia, Gandhi, Shivago - anything Ridley Scott or David Lean). The Other Guys (best comedy of all time). I am starting to produce some indie films.

I love all music,, but I'm mostly into alt rock (indie if possible), classic rock (not the top 100 all time radio junk), b-sides (the song on the other side of the 45, but it doesn't work well with CDs or MP3s :-), gotta get my dose of country rock too, some cool jazz (not the irritating kind people pretend to like) and yes some opera and classical (tosca live is the best, saw figaro recently), music festivals, car shows, country bars, jazz clubs, indie shows, black and white balls, as long as its a fun safe environment.

Love live theater and am in London at least once a year so always hit Charing Cross in the West End (if you know, then you know)...

Foodie, but I don't eat beef, pork or lamb, mostly veg but I do love the seafood. I don't drink soda, but do enjoy a cold craft beer and great wines, maybe a "bourbontucky". I like to cook when I have time. Wine enthusiast but by no means close to advanced, but very interested in learning more.
The six things I could never do without
Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate with Almonds, Acai covered with ..... guess

My kids of course (guess I should probably list them first)

Some musical instrument to goof around with (I play guitar, drums, keyboards, bass, percussion),

A great mattress (for sleeping, where was your mind going with that)

Learning something new

Peace, Love and Understanding
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ways to work less

Ways to vacation more

The Arts - all of them; Music, Film, Sculpture, Painting, Theater, Dance

My kids, their health, their happiness, their grades, their next level of education, their future, did they brush, floss, shower (i have a son remember)... all that parenting stuff :-0

The human condition and why people focus on whats them different instead of what makes them all the same.

Origins of the universe and it's (and my) final destination.

The MOMENT (being present).
On a typical Friday night I am
Not being typical
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I crave the company of highly intelligent people having curious conversations about deep thought provoking things that make shallow small talk seem........ what was i saying again, kinda dozed off there at the end :-p
You should message me if
You are a good person, happy person, fun person. You don't have a bunch of crazy rules listed in your profile. You define yourself by what you like, not what you don't like (some of the profiles are filed with such negative energy, how sad it must be to live life like that). You are easy going and light hearted, but know also where you stand ethically, morally, spiritually. You can explore deeper things, take care of business and then be a funky dork too... and its all good.
