My self-summary
Passionate, frequently irreverent and silly, always curious, uninhibited, honest and open (sometimes to a fault), deeply compassionate, understanding, and always down to go on an adventure or explore an idea, no matter how ridiculous.

I am an empathetic person, and always try to understand where others are coming from, even if I disagree with them fundamentally. Intellectual curiosity is important to me, as all my relationships, romantic or otherwise, have been rooted in being able to share deep conversations and gain insight from others.

I am most passionate about music—I produce and DJ house and techno, and play guitar, bass and drums. I am also very politically passionate, especially regarding the struggle for full equality for all people; I am a socialist and feminist.
What I’m doing with my life
Exploring and experiencing.
I’m really good at
Making music, DJ-ing, swimming, writing, cuddling, going on absurd adventures.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, and that I can read and analyze people extremely well without having known them for very long; also, if they're meeting me drunk, the occasional Marxist diatribe.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I have far ranging tastes and collect music almost as a hobby, so you'd be hard pressed to find music I really didn't like, but I am particularly into deep house, techno and nu-disco right now.

Just picking some artists at random from what I've been listening to recently: Dusky, Justin Martin, Hot Since 82, Shadow Child, Sasha, MK, Disclosure, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, RAC, The Magician, Moonboots, Waze & Odyssey, Daft Punk, Zed Bias, El-B, Joris Voorn.

Besides that, I love Radiohead, The Shins, Elliott Smith, RJD2, DJ Shadow, Boards of Canada, Lotus, Disco Biscuits, The Smiths, Parliament-Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aphex Twin, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Black Sabbath, and a lot more.

TV: Arrested Development, Broad City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, The Wire, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Girls, Portlandia, and Anthony Bourdain.

Books: Hunter S. Thompson is one of my heroes. Some of my favorite authors: Friedrich Nietzsche

, Michel Foucault

, Antonio Gramsci, Karl Marx, Albert Camus, Jean Paul Sartre,
Fyodor Dostoevsky

, Aldous Huxley
Kurt Vonnegut, George Orwell

, Richard Dawkins

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

J.R.R Tolkein
, Eugene Zamiatin

, Leo Tolstoy, Boris Pasternak

, and Isaac Asimov.

Food: I'll try literally anything, but Korean, French, and Japanese are probably my top 3 favorites cuisines.
Six things I could never do without
Good food
Intellectual stimulation
Access to nature
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of life, how to effectively enact social change, how to redefine gender roles and get rid of our societal hang ups regarding sexuality and the human body, the future of humanity and Earth...also food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either checking out live music or a club if someone good is playing, or going out around the neighborhood otherwise.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My outlook somehow manages to combine wildly idealistic optimism with hardened cynicism, but it's borne out of how much I care about people and our planet, and how frustrating it is thinking about how trivial many of the challenges we face could be if we actually tried to address them.
You should message me if
Drinking wine and/or 40's and smoking a spliff in a Bushwick backyard, while discussing philosophy/psychology/social justice/anything, and listening to music until the sunrise sounds like something you'd be interested in.
