My self-summary
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ~ Dr. Seuss

Friends would describe me as loyal and caring, intellectually curious, and wanting to do right by people. I enjoy following/discussing current events and politics. Life long Warriors fan and named for a GSW player back in the day.
What I’m doing with my life
Bay Area native, recently moved to an estate planning law firm in Oakland. Weekends I'm usually out exploring or doing community service work with friends. If it's summer, I'm likely getting in a round of golf or a bike ride.
I’m really good at
Enjoying the moment. Having interesting conversations about current events, politics, gadgets, and food.

I'm a single digit handicap golfer, but I've been playing since high school. Sadly for those wanting tips, my friends are proof that I'm not a great instructor, so mostly we enjoy being outside catching up over a few beers and in the sun...and chasing a little white ball around.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sometimes when laughing I resemble 😂
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really enjoy foods, but always partial to good sushi, a slightly floppy thin NY slice or Chicago deep dish pizza, a nicely seasoned rare steak, a flavorful bowl of ramen, fresh summertime caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, evoo and basil. I love the amazing aroma and taste of a fresh cup of coffee! I have a serious weakness for dark chocolate. Ok, there is also a slight weakness for portuguese sausage, rice, eggs, loco moco, and spam musubis. After all of that, I think I need to hit the gym.

I love a crisp IPA on a hot summer evening/day, and I won't resist if you offer up a gin and tonic with a lime or an old fashioned. I enjoy drinking wine, and managed the beer and wine department at Berkeley Bowl for a few months; but I admit I never really tasted all the flavors that the vendors would describe. I can only really tell you what I enjoy and what I don't care for. I don't get the Asian blush when drinking.

Currently reading Saving Capitalism and Pay Any Price, but recently read Flash Boys, Family of Secrets, and Imperial Life in The Emerald City. I'm catching up, but I'm way behind in my subscriptions to the New Yorker and Vanity Fair, and there are a few estate planning articles that I need to read for work. I enjoy articles by Matt Taibbi from Rolling Stone, Robert Reich, Michael Lewis, and a few blogs on new gadgets or gear. Most recently my reads have been keeping up on technology, legal blogs and politics. The current administration is ridiculous, every day it is something else.

Somewhat recent movies that I've enjoyed have been Furious 7, Selma, Ex Machina, and Deadpool. But my favorites cover the spectrum from dramas to comedies to action films, including A River Runs Through It, American President, My Cousin Vinny, Back to the Future, Fifth Element, Snatch, the Bourne series, the Hangover, to things like Iron Man, the Matrix, and 300. I have to admit I dislike horror movies. I'm way behind on tv programs, but occasionally catch an episode of Suits, Mr. Robot, or AoS, Blacklist, or GoT, but I miss MSNBC. *update, since the election, I have an easier time watching clips of John Oliver and SNL than watching MSNBC. Starting to get into House of Cards.

As far as taste in music, it is an eclectic mix of hip hop, R&B, 80's, classic rock, house, pop, rap, and island 98.5 with iokopo, common kings, fiji and j boog thrown in to mellow things out. I also enjoy catching a musical here and there. #finngruva Overwhelmed and the Hamilton soundtrack on repeat.
Six things I could never do without
family and friends
intellectual curiosity
nature
laughter
coffee, preferably good coffee, but in a pinch any will do
new challenges
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what is going on in politics?! estate planning issues, my golf swing, the next book to read, politics and economics
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not stuck at work trying to meet a deadline, I'm out with friends for dinner or drinks after a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Remember Hitch? Sadly, I dance like Hitch and not like Albert.
You should message me if
You're secure enough to be single, but choose a relationship because it's something you want, not something you need. This is of course reciprocal. Hopefully we won't have any staring matches and we'll go from there. Bonus points if you enjoy golf or want to learn.
