My self-summary
Its tough to write one of these without seeming egotistical or self-involved, so I wont. Instead I'll just provide my geographical trajectory thus far in life.

I was born in Ukraine. At ten I moved to NJ via a short stay in Austria and a month in Italy, this planted the seed for travel in my heart. NJ was good to me, thats where I finished growing up. I went to college around the Boston area, and then moved back to NJ afterwards. After school I worked in an office job for a few years, doing research for a major accounting firm. The job changed, and with my student loans paid off i got bored with the office life. So, I decided to do what I've always wanted to do, which is become a chef. I moved to Colorado 6 years ago, and its been working out pretty well thus far. Sometimes I still miss the ocean, even though I love the mountains out here. Eventually I'm hoping to finish my trek out to Cali, I just have to figure out which I like more, north or south.

I'm a pretty easy-going guy. Sometimes its good to plan things out, other times its more of an adventure if things are spontaneous. I guess I'm a Gemini in that respect. I like to pick up new hobbies, especially if they allow me to tinker, like fixing up my bike. In the summer I ride my bike, in the winter I try to get to the mountains and ski, but my life does not revolve around either, or any, such activity...I guess I'm atypical to Boulder in that respect.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm here to kick some ass and drink some beer...and it looks like I'm all outta beer. (haha) Right now I'm living the dream, enjoying what CO has to offer, and trying to learn as much as I can about food and cooking it well.
I’m really good at
cooking, baking/pastrying, quoting movies, tinkering, trivial pursuit, skiing, sarcasm, people watching, twirling my mustache, cocking the left eyebrow, and staying up late.
The first things people usually notice about me
These days, the mustache...its pretty epic.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I haven't had much time to read lately, but I really enjoyed Max Barry's books (Syrup, Company), also Michael Chabon (Adventures of Cavalier and Klay, Yiddish Policemen's Union). Michael Ruhlman's series on what it is to be a chef were really great, as well as the anthologies of short stories from kitchens (Don't Try This at Home, etc.). The Griffin and Sabine books are fantastic, Haroun and the Sea of Stories was wonderful, and I've always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes stories. And, although not quite literature, I love reading cookbooks from around the world, especially if they also have good pictures of the food and descriptions of the food cultures.

As far as music and movies go, thats impossible to answer on any level of completeness, but a few favorite bands are: Beatles, Oasis, Rage Against The Machine, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Offspring, Robert Miles, Citizen Cope, Pretty Lights, Matisyahu, Sting, Queen, Pomplamoose, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, La Roux, Faust, Santana, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Bob Marley, NOFX, U2, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong, INXS, White Stripes, Muse, Gypsy Kings, Thievery Corporation...etc.

Movies: Rattatouille, Garden State, 500 days of Summer, 300, Monty Python, Superbad, Kill Bill, Spaghetti Westerns, Grand Torino, Slumdog Millionaire, Under the Tuscan Sun, Big Night, No Reservations, A Christmas Story, Ghostbusters, Crocodile Dundee (both), Fanboys, NY I Love You, Love Actually, Stranger Than Fiction, True Romance, Zombieland, Usual Suspects, Dr. Strangelove, 5th Element, Amelie, Reign of Fire, Death at a Funeral (the original), 4 Weddings and a Funeral, The Ruttles, Clockwork Orange, House of Sand and Fog, Lost in Translation, Big Fish, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Life is Beautiful, The Big Blue, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Princess Bride, Big Lebowski, Taken, Snatch, Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, Trainspotting, Magnolia, Annie Hall, almost anything with Michael Cera or Jonah Hill in it...endless list, really.

Food: ok, Im an aspiring chef...'nuf said.

I don't watch much tv anymore (since we don't actually have one currently), but my list of favorite shows is significantly shorter than the others. Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, True Blood, Californication, Weeds, Flight of the Conchords, Scrubs, Modern Family, Rome, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Best Thing I Ever Ate, Top Chef, Cash Cab, Chopped.
Six things I could never do without
sense of humor
late night food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The real answer to life, universe, and everyting...

Really, though, just about anything. Recipes and menu ideas, where to travel to next and how to afford it, how much i want to go to the beach, or the mountains, or camping and wish i had the time to do that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most likely working. And then enjoying a nice beverage at one of the Boulder bars that's open after midnight.
