My self-summary
My name's Dan. Generally I would describe myself as a bit of a nerd/geek. I'm into science, technology, computers, math, etc.

I'm very good with all sorts of technical and mechanical things. I am into DIY. I’m that person that goes out and buys the parts to make something rather than just buying the finished product to save a few bucks. I always have a few "projects" I'm working on.

I'm also a musician. Music is a huge part of my life. I've been a percussionist/drummer for the last 24 years of my life. I know that whatever happens music will always be a part of my life. It's an unbelievable experience to have a hand in creating it.

Check out my list of favorite tv/books/movies for more insight into my interests.

Some other facts:

I'm a PC.

I'm an introvert.

I'm pretty sure I have a sleep disorder. Not helped by my totally totally irregular schedule. I rarely go to bed before 4 am. If you're a morning person we might have some issues...

I try to live my life by this quote from Christopher Titus: "Step up or step aside".
What I’m doing with my life
Parks & Rec. irl

Seriously, I run my town's Parks Dept. I do pretty much everything from administrative work to mowing fields and fixing things. I love my job (which is why I probably spend too much time working and consequently find myself on this site...)

In the past I have also worked in various food service jobs and as a line cook in a few restaurants. (and still have the scars to prove it)

I'm a freelance percussionist so I perform all over the place. I regularly play with a wind symphony in Lexington as well as various other gigs. I especially enjoy theater pit bands and generally get to do several a year.

My Concert Schedule

I also march in parades all over New England. So far I've done just under 150.
I’m really good at
"Kitchen-hands" (being able to grab hot things and not get burned)
Computers & Technology
Fixing things
Spatial Reasoning (aka How do we cram all this crap into the car?...)
The first things people usually notice about me
You tell me haha... I walk really fast. I have long hair.

I do the EDC thing. (Every Day Carry) aka: I have way too much crap in my pockets all the time, but if you ever need pliers, a flashlight, or a tuning fork you know who to ask. Update: lost the tuning fork :(
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite Music:
Currently listening to Techno.
Recently I've really liked:
Really cool acoustic versions of 3 Turisas songs
Bastille, Ludo, more Ludo (It's a rock tango!, how awesome is that?),and Ben Folds.

At my old job we used to listen to Ludo radio on Pandora and it was awesome. Or Summer Hits of the 90's. Sorry, if you just listen to nothing but Top 40's pop or country, we might have issues....

I like rock, metal, classical, techno, basically everything except rap and country. Generally I will listen to anything though. I'm always open to new music.

One of my all-time favorite songs is "Ballet for a Girl from Buchannon" by Chicago

I'm open to suggestions...bonus points for non-standard instruments (bassoon, accordion) and songs in odd time signatures. (and more points if you know what that means).. Interestingly enough I've found a lot of great music through this site...(just wish I could find some great dates..)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit to one trashy TV obsession...Parental Control on MTV. It's totally fake but at the same time hilarious. Also Friendzone..

You are looking for a serious, monogamous relationship.
I'm not really looking for casual dates without the possibility of more.

You know what ASMR is and/or you experience it.

Want to come see a musical or a concert for free? (And not mind the fact that I have to be there 3 hours early...)

How about marathon all the Harry Potter movies. I've only seen the 1st and 5th and I just re-read the books. and now there's the whole Fantastic Beast series coming out....
