My self-summary
I am not a zoophile, I promise... worse, I'm a Marxian anarchist.
What I’m doing with my life
growing a beard, which takes most of my energy, the ocassional shave, and a PhD. Reading, writing, winning third place in a short fiction contest, teaching at uni, figuring out how not to live my life, with little ambition and fewer results, wondering what I want to be when I grow up
I’m really good at
ignoring a cut until the onions on the chopping board turn red, then looking shocked. Global history, German, and staying in the sauna after the sand clock has run out. Pasta, forgetting deadlines, falling out of ski lifts at high altitude, cunnilingus, inflicting self-harm while trying to fix cars based on online instructions, perenially separating sock twins.
The first things people usually notice about me
are my inadequate telepathic faculties. And that the ball in my dog's mouth bears an uncanny resemblance to a freshly severed squirrel tail.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favourite authors include Shakespeare, Faulkner, Goethe, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Orwell, Vonnegut, Philip K Dick, Kerouac, Hunter S Thompson, Pynchon, Jonathan Franzen, David Foster Wallace, Flannery O'Connor, Nabokov, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Kropotkin, The Manns, Kafka, Nietzsche, Marx.

Forbidden pleasure: James Lee Burke, Malcolm Pryce

My favourite directors include Hitchcock, Altman, Dahl, Coen Brothers, Polanski, Lynch, Park Chan-wook, early De Palma, Godard, Wenders, Fassbinder, Herzog, Tarantino, Kaurismaki, Wong Kar-Wai, Haneke, F.F Coppola, Billy Wilder.

You could say I rather like the noir and neo-noir genre.

TV Shows: Fawlty Towers, Da Ali G Show, South Park, The Office, Extras, Curb your Enthusiasm, and I can't stand the Big Bang Theory - I have had a couple of girls compare me to Sheldon because I know stuff and I can be geeky. But I'm not camp. I like spanners and screwdrivers and power drills and grease on my hands and pretending to know what I'm doing.

Pretty eclectic in my music taste. Currently listening to Sublime - 40oz to Freedom.
Six things I could never do without
Clean water
Nutritious food
Sex (although I once went for 18 years without it)
Pleasant working conditions
I spend a lot of time thinking about
a revolution so everyone can have those things
On a typical Friday night I am
on OKCupid desperately filling out blank boxes. Or going to a Co-op to buy some food and cook a nice meal for my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once tried to take over the world. I woke up in a shelf.
You should message me if
you think that a good day is going out for brunch, a quick gym session to sit in the jacuzzi overlooking the river, driving out to explore new sights, a home-cooked meal with friends, and a great movie on the sofa. Or flying to Las Vegas to try every bar in town and living out some antics that even the hookers on the strip find athletic but disturbing. Or you just want someone to read a good book with in a cafe and fancy a chat
The two of us
