I'm handing in in April, after that I have my viva (oral exam) and then I'll have a fancy doctorate! (In mathematics, since you're going to ask).
In terms of other projects, I'm learning piano and trying to get back into writing music. I started learning Japanese and would like to get back into that.
I listen to music mostly whilst I work, so i tend to go for instrumental stuff. From ambient stuff like Brian eno to minimalist stuff like Steve Reich, City pop like Tatsuro Yamashita, Joe Hisaishi for that Ghibli magic.
I like watching let's plays/video game streams. I find them soothing, like how old people have the TV on in the background for the company. Best friends play is my favourite channel.
I listen to a couple of history podcasts, such as "the dollop" and "hardcore history", having been introduced to them by my historian friend. "Extra history" is a neat web series as well. Paradox games made me a fan of history :p
