Originally from the Midwest, living in California now for 22 years, I tend to be more direct than most people on the left coast. I am someone who can fit in to most situations, from a black-tie event to a rave or burning man to car repair. I think of myself as a present-day renaissance man. I enjoy traveling abroad, cooking, opera, NYC, new restaurants, outdoors, anything athletic (more of a participator than spectator) and quiet evenings indoors watching a movie. I love playing chess but most of my friends do not, which in turn, affects my acuity. ha ha. Chess players?
I’ve made wonderful friends over the years that are very close to me. They would say that I am a true friend in every sense of the word. I am one who is dependable, follows through on commitments and is trustworthy. I have a very playful side to me as well. Always laughing and poking fun at myself. I don’t take myself too seriously because humor is such an important part of my life. That said, my driving force is what I learned as a youngster, and that is, there isn’t’ anything I can’t do. I was taught at an early age that if a human being can do it, so can I. As a result, I am eager and very driven. I always say it’s the journey not the destination that’s important.
I guess if I had to sum up who I am, I would say, man of the people. I help those who are powerless and challenge those who have power. As I get older, life makes more sense – I’m beginning to get it. Very comfortable in my skin and happy with the person I turned out to be. Having confidence and dealing with your insecurities is key.
Some might say that life is nothing more than suffering and chaos. I look at it differently. I tend to make the most of each day and try to find a way to be happy with every given day.
What else can I tell you? Ben Franklin is my favorite American. And, rehab is for quitters…ha ha.
I’m interested in meeting a woman who takes care of herself, sarcastic when she needs to be, considers herself sexy, happy with whom she is and enjoys a good laugh.
Finding that illustrious chemistry is important, so let’s meet up for a drink or two…
