I'm also fairly funny. In, you know, my opinion anyway. And I'm a good writer, and working at getting better - I'm studying screenwriting currently.
Books: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Dresden Files and other stuff by Jim Butcher, basically anything by Terry Pratchett, most stuff I've read by Gene Wolfe, the Years of Lyndon Johnson, Joe Abercrombie's books, Mark Lawrence's books, Harry Connolly's books, Patrick Rothfuss's books (if you can't tell I tend to follow authors), and the odd crime or history book.
Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums, Tarantino's stuff (even Death Proof! well, kinda.), Fight Club, Garden State, The Raid: Redemption, Aliens, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. And to be honest, I'll put up with fairly high levels of suck in the other parts of a movie if it has enough cool action/fight sequences. Unless it's Michael Bay. Then that's still a "nope".
Shows: The West Wing, Parks and Rec, Community, 30 Rock, BtVS, Firefly, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, Justified, Terriers. And while I don't watch it much anymore, classic Simpsons was basically foundational for my sense of humor. If you can whip out and/or recognize a good classic Simpsons reference? Oh, so many points to you.
Music: Fairly eclectic. Some selections - Alkaline Trio, Atmosphere, Be Your Own Pet, Eels, Green Day, some of Johnny Cash's stuff, Kanye (don't hate!), Magnetic Fields, Modest Mouse, Nirvana, Rilo Kiley, Sublime, SoaD (though I don't listen to them as much anymore), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (more their earlier stuff though). Yes, that list is alphabetical because I picked it out by scrolling through my iTunes.
Food? Not my biggest passion. Though I do love me some pizza. Mm, pizza.
Also, even though the category doesn't ask, I do love me some computer games in my free time (when I'm not occupied with the other stuff above). So: Baldur's Gate II (for nostalgia anyway), Borderlands 2 (so addictive) Fallout: New Vegas, Saints Row IV, Witcher 2, Skyrim (and the billions of mods for it), Torchlight II, Batman: Arkham City, Bioshock Infinite (story/setting counts majorly here)... the list could go on but it probably shouldn't. Anyway, if you couldn't tell, I tend to favor RPGs, but I also enjoy some shooty/explosiony type gameplay as well. Especially if some RPG elements and/or a good story are mixed in.
