My self-summary
Hi, Im a designer and photographer with a background in the arts and have been living in New York for 12 years now. Its very much home and I love exploring its wonderful carnival of characters and places, from the kitsch of China Town to the pretensions of Chelsea and all that's inbetween....

I come originally from a small British island off the coast of France (extra points if you know what American State has been named after it!) but left as a teenager to live in a lot of other places including London, Paris, Hamburg...... Its been a great journey and I've learned a lot along the way. I love and am fascinated by our ability to transform things, be it anything at all; our selves, ideas raw materials.... cooking even! -for the better of course, though just as instructive when it's not, in that you can learn what to avoid! It's our greatest capacity in interacting with our surroundings and one another and is the life force of everything we do.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying creative challenges in my work and learning new things. Its a way of staying alert and alive.
I’m really good at
Listening, encouraging, exploring ideas, laughing at everything and getting your point of departure. I wake up with a sunny disposition -annoying for some, but really a plus when you need a little extra positive boost. Reframing everything.

I also have an unlikely knack for being able to toss small objects into receptacles from surprising distances! ....have never quite figured out how to capitalize on this and have ended up with way too many stuffed toys at carnivals -if only they had decent prizes... But if your life depended on it, I'd be the right guy to have around!

(Don't worry, I don't feel the need to do it all the time, or at all even. Just something I can do).
The first things people usually notice about me
My blue eyes perhaps -they have a sort of Paisley pattern swirl. No idea where that comes from!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot of News journals and read the Economist religiously. It's well written, serious and brilliantly funny all at the same time and allows me to keep up with everything happening in the various countries I've lived in.

Otherwise I just finished Ayaan Hirsi Ali's, From Islam to America and some short stories by David Sedaris. I have a great love of visual books, especially photography and art. Collecting them and viewing them is a sort of meditation.

I love film and film theory and have made a couple of short things myself. Wenders, Chaplin, Tarkovsky, Lean, Morris, Swankmajer, Vadim, Truffaut, Jean-Pierre Jeunet..... to name a bunch. I love the sublime and the ridiculous and enjoy something thats made in a way that completes itself!
Six things I could never do without
My Mac
Blank piece of paper
A bust of William Blake
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world around us, our moment in history... why mushrooms grow where they do.....
On a typical Friday night I am
Meeting up with friends, cooking a collective dinner, watching a movie, hanging at a local bar....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a very sensitive belly button.... (should I even be confessing to that?) No! Don't touch me there..... ;-)
