My self-summary
Originally from the Hampton Roads/Tidewater Virginia area, I went to high school outside of Boston and went to college in Atlanta, where I was recruited for swimming and swam all four years. I've been in DC for the past few years working in finance and doing the whole work hard / play hard thing. I'm the kind of guy who is just as comfortable in my favorite t-shirt and jeans as I am in a suit or tux. I enjoy good food, good company, working out, learning for the sake of learning, and exploring new places.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a VP and equity research analyst at an investment bank. That basically means I give advice on what to do with stocks.
I’m really good at
Swimming (water sports in general), golf, sailing, photography, guitar, finance, and learning new things quickly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, you tell me! A bit of southern gentleman without the accent, perhaps? The frame of a swimmer minus the chlorinated hair? I'm half Scandinavian but people can never guess which country.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Bought a Kindle a few months ago... Best. Decision. Ever. Recent reads include: A Short History Of Nearly Everything, Kitchen Confidential, The Martian (loved it!), and The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World.

Food & drink: Just about everything (read: recovering from the Michael Phelps diet). I'm not a "foodie" but I appreciate good food and am pretty adventurous. I love seafood. I like wine with food, and when out, I usually go for bourbon and good beers.

Music: Addicted to Spotify. Everything from EDM to Country and in between. Grew up on 90's alt rock and DMB.

TV: Game of Thrones, Suits, House of Cards, Archer, The League, South Park, and HIMYM.

Movies: I like comedies, thrillers, and movies that make you think. Wedding Crashers to Star Trek.

Sports: Nationals, Red Sox, Patriots, and Caps.
Six things I could never do without
Family & Friends (of course)
A lake/river/bay/ocean nearby
A dog in the family
My car
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm taking my next trip and how to make time for everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out enjoying drinks and dinner with friends or finding something on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Yep, I had to shave for swimming.
You should message me if
... you're similarly intelligent, driven, active, fun, and you know how to balance the work hard/play hard lifestyle.

Ditziness and lack of direction (i.e. I have no idea what I'm doing with my life) are major turn offs.

Also, DC/Arlington/Alexandria/Bethesda only... Being realistic here since I live in the district.
