My self-summary
Scientist/Musician always on the hunt for new things to learn. I've found that the best way to learn is to listen intently and only speak when I have something important to say. This can make me seem shy, but I'll talk your ear off once you get me going.

I can be extremely lazy, but will stop at nothing to accomplish a goal once I'm properly motivated. This has resulted in some amazing adventures such as:
-Spending a semester in Italy even though engineers weren't supposed to study abroad
-Moving to Colorado when I had never been there before based on a job I found online
-Earning a Master's degree studying batteries even though my advisor left after my first semester
-Loading my entire life into my car and driving to San Francisco without a job or a place to live. 4 years later I can't imagine living anywhere else!

I'm just looking for a girl who is worth the effort.
What I’m doing with my life
Most days I ride my bike to my awesome job doing chemistry for a biotech startup in SOMA. Sometimes that involves going to Techshop to build things with which to do chemistry.

When I'm not working, I try my best to be outside as much as possible. Ideally somewhere deep in the woods, but sometimes just walking through the city or sitting in a sunny park.

If I'm not working or outside you can usually find me making music.
I’m really good at
Figuring out how things work and how to fix them when they break

Doing just enough work and having just enough luck to handle whatever life throws my way

Surviving in the woods for 5 days by myself
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
In order of importance:

Way to much awesome music to list out, but if I had to describe my ideal sound it would be Bob Dylan plus Radiohead with a dash of Bluegrass and a pinch of Hendrix

I Generally skew towards books of the sci-fi/fantasy variety. Vonnegut in particular speaks the truth like no one else can.

I'm trying to read more history as I start to realize that this has all happened before and will all happen again.

I'm anxiously awaiting the new seasons of Game of Thrones and Rick & Morty. I'm sad there will never be anymore Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, or Futurama. I recently binged my way through Breaking Bad and loved every second of it.

I also like movies, but I prefer to talk about them in person. Preferably when deciding what to watch while cuddled up on a couch.
Six things I could never do without
My Guitar
A good pair of Needle-Nose Pliers
Plenty of sleep
Alone time
Something to laugh about
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much better the world would be if everyone took things a bit less seriously

That we are the universe experiencing itself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Climbing rocks, drinking whiskey, smoking weed, and/or making music. Possibly resting up for a hike tomorrow.
You should message me if
You need a partner in crime for climbing, live music, or an outdoor adventure!
