I cook poorly but often, and with heart. Ethiopian, Korean, or South Indian food, Chinese pastries, or a good cinnamon roll are among the many avenues to my heart. I eat obscene amounts of fruit and vegetables; I can decimate a watermelon, and will do.
The six things I could never do without
a warm sweater, a sturdy spatula and felicitous knife, running shoes, breakfast conversation, people whose attention-paying is generous
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to uncomplicate my relationship to indie grrl rock. how to get that oven baked taste from a microwaved potato. how to eliminate "such that," "something like," and "how it is that" from my repertoire of commitment-deferring phrases. how to continue to grow young in language.
