My self-summary
I'm originally from Georgia, then lived in Denver for a few years and made some great friends, then I took a job at a startup here in SF on a whim last May.

I love to learn new things and meet new people!
What I’m doing with my life
I do graphic design/UI/UX/full-stack development at an ad tech startup.

Just signed up for improv classes with BATS. Should be fun!

In my spare time, I'm working on my GQ look one trip to the mall at a time, my sweet dance moves, and probably serving up some awesomely bad puns.
I’m really good at
The phrase "jack of all trades" really fits me. I can learn something new and be pretty good at it pretty quickly. I would say I'm best at making people laugh, being creative, and I've been told I make excellent milkshakes. No lie. I have had to eject countless boys from my yard. Working to find a variant of shake that brings the girls...
The first things people usually notice about me
That I smile/laugh a lot, and that I'm pretty fluent in sarcasm, and have a great Puh-Puh-Pokerface.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Rock, hip hop, reggae, classic R&B, shoegaze, French disco house...the list goes on forever. Different tunes for different times. Music is one of my main passions in life. Makers of my favorite tunes at the moment are probably Real Estate, Tame Impala, DMB, CS&N, Darius, Cherokee, and Madeon (French dance music producers), Fela Kuti (Afrobeat ftw!). Radiohead will always be a favorite.

Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Blackadder, Louie, The IT Crowd, Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, Hell's Kitchen, The F Word, Chopped, Whitest Kids U' Know, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Kids in the Hall

I don't have cable at my new place, so I've been making the most of my Netflix subscription.

Back to the Future, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inception, Requiem for a Dream (once in a while - it's a horrifying, yet beautiful, film), Pi, Primer, Napoleon Dynamite, Clerks

Books (This is an extremely abbreviated, top-of-mind list)
11/22/63, The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, A Prayer for Owen Meany, The Pillars of the Earth, A Handmaid's Tale, The Golden Compass (and the rest of the His Dark Materials series), Dune, Survivor, Rant, anything Christopher Moore writes

Indian food, sushi, pizza, Hawaiian BBQ, and Italian. One of my favorite sweets is the Black Tie Mousse Cake at Olive Garden.
Six things I could never do without
- My crazy, loving family
- My friends all across the country
- Socializing - getting new perspectives on things is the only way to grow one's world
- Learning new facts about old things, and old facts about new things
- Music makes my world go 'round
- Sarcasm - an under-appreciated art form.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sometimes, deep stuff, such as the nature of reality and our place within it. Other times, creative stuff. Still other times, what color yacht should I get? Does anyone actually enjoy playing golf? Are those mirror pants?
On a typical Friday night I am
Having beers with friends. Then, chatting it up with my Uber driver on the way home. Recently, my driver was a former NFL player from the 70s. Another time, a Russian driver gave me Italian restaurant recommendations. Meeting new people and experiencing new perspectives is one of my favorite things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
How about some of my non-listed other favorite shows?

Little House on the Prairie
Antiques Roadshow
Sappy internet videos

I recently used "You can't hug every cat" in an extremely fitting metaphor at a party.
You should message me if
You should message me if you want to bask in my greatness. Or offer me the chance to bask in yours. Let's be great together.™

I'm not looking for any type of relationship in particular. I'm relatively new to the area, so just looking to meet interesting people and see what happens.
