My self-summary
You know, for someone who's hacked up a bit of creative writing junk over the years, I'm finding this part rather tricky. I think that it amounts to me not liking the concept of writing about myself, as it's hard to do so without coming across as arrogant in some way. So let's see if we can summarize this in some sort of equation instead:

Slightly introverted personality * [fun-loving music geek + raised in the Bay area + 5 years in Paris, France + East coast college education in DC] + [loving life and all of the caring friends it has to offer + taking advantage of the countless fun events that occur every week in the Bay + staying up extremely late - any logical reasoning for it] / flaws = the sum of a few parts that do not equate to a whole

I am avoiding adjectives, as best as I can, and am finding it tricky
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working at the greatest record store on Earth a.k.a Amoeba Records and really enjoying my time there, though it ain't a long-term career goal or anything (spoken as if record stores will even last in the long-term, hah!). Like many in this crazy generation of college-educated good-for-nothings, I have yet to discover the occupation where my passion truly lies, but I'm confident that one day I'll find it and pursue it with all my might. Until then, I'm soaking in all of the good vibes around me, making new friends and having a blast with'em.
I’m really good at
I'm an excellent listener, but adapt myself well to different personality types and can be very chatty as well. I'm very patient and rarely lose my temper. I'm also very good at finding things to do in the Bay area, making thematic mixes, and being generally thoughtful of others.

I'm not good at: bragging about things I'm really good at!
The first things people usually notice about me
I was recently told that people can tell that I'm a sweetheart right off the bat, but I don't buy it! In all likelihood, the first thing you'll notice is probably the motions of my neck, as it bobs along with the rest of my body in the front row of the music show, while the rest of the audience stands still. That is, unless you want to dance?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My embarrassing admission is that I hardly read any books these days, but I'm an honest type so there you have it! Last ones I read were "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy (finished quickly), His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman (finished in wide breaks and intervals), and "Wild Things" by Dave Eggers (unfinished). Used to be a total bookworm when I was younger, pre-internet (damn you world wide web, your distractions are endless).

As is to be expected of someone who works at a record spot, I listen to a scary amount of music. Weird indie hip hop is definitely my speciality field, but I'm open-minded and always interested in hearing other people's music picks. My favorite releases of 2010 so far are: Qwel & Maker "Owl", Dessa "A Badly Broken Code," Dark Time Sunshine "Vessel," Homeboy Sandman "The Good Sun," Factor "Lawson Graham," Soulcrate Music "The Heartland Panic" and The Opus "Praying Mantis - Plus." There've plenty of other great releases, though, and plenty more emerging in the near future. Did I mention I occasionally make mixes for people I like? :)

I watch way too many movies... I go through different phases where I'll devour a lot of films by a particular director (Lars Von Trier recently got this treatment) or in a particular theme or genre. I also have a deep-founded love for movies ripe with camp value, particularly horror and exploitation films from the 80s. Some of my favorite movies are: "Mulholland Dr.", "Buffalo 66," "Dead Man" (<3 Jarmusch), "Mister Lonely", "Rushmore," "Dogville," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "Leon: the Professional," "Pulp Fiction," etc.

As far as food goes, I'm an omnivore that's open to just about anything. Be it Mexican, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Ethiopian, American, etc. I will eat it if it's good. I will not turn down a dish just because it sounds disgusting from a descriptive stand point, or looks disgusting from a visual stand point. I try to keep my diet interesting and varied, though I don't always get enough greens and end up subbing chocolate in it's place. Got a pretty major sweet-tooth, in fact I'm practically an ice cream connaiseur at this point.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People. Especially the people I love.
On a typical Friday night I am
getting off work at 10 PM unless I've gotten off early to go catch a show some of my friends are putting on. Or that some music artists I'm nerdy about are playing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Completely devoted myself to a creative writing website for many years, turned down countless opportunities for good times over it, and finally decided it wasn't for me. Oh well!
You should message me if
