I live for stupid jokes! I've been called the Chandler/Xander/Wash of my friend groups, and I take that resposibility super cereal. I'm that guy who's unabashedly singing his lungs out at the stop light. That guy who stops to pet your fat pug on the street. That guy who just quoted Galaxy Quest on a first date. Intentionally. o_o
I spend my free time baking cookies, eating cookies, and gaming with friends (and cookies). I'm a social introvert, meaning I'll spend days and days with my friends, but eventually I'll need to hide at home to recharge with Netflix and the kitty. I enjoy a splash of outdoorsyness to counteract my indoor geek tendencies. I run several times a week, and I've been getting more into hiking too. At the end of the day, it just means I get to eat more cookies! :D
I started working in video games back in 2008 and haven't looked back! (Except for that short stint last year where I took a break to try baking as a career.) It's great to have found an entire industry filled with my people. Most notably, I've worked on the Guild Wars franchise, as well as the upcoming game Gigantic.
I am currently...
...learning the Unity editor
...watching Non Non Biyori, Gurren Lagann, Friends (for the umpteenth time)
...playing The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Shadowrun Returns

Politics! This is a newer hobby for me; I only started following politics last summer when the presidential race heated up. I never thought I'd become my Dad, but now I spend way too much time watching debates and interviews and newscasts on YouTube. I blame the Bernie Sanders movement for this addiction. XD
Travel! I looooove traveling! I make it my goal to go somewhere new every year; preferably abroad, but the U.S. is fine too. I most recently took a trip to Minnesota this last January (-25 degrees!), and I'm hoping to sneak in a trip to Scotland or Germany some time later this year. Most notable places I've been so far include Sydney, Dublin, Tokyo, New York, and Boston.
I'm in the market for a long-term relationship. Someone to be the Ellie to my Mr. Fredricksen, the Lily to my Marshall. This obviously takes time and trust, and I would much rather take time to get to know you before jumping into anything too quickly. I'm willing to take things slow and see how they progress naturally, without forcing the serial-dating mentality or artificial rules that often come with meeting people online.
I'm most attracted to outgoing personalities, people who are funny, a bit goofball, and value equality in a relationship. Preferably she has at least a passing interest in geek culture, and is willing to try an episode of Firefly or a co-op video game or attend PAX with me. Some interest in the outdoors is also good, because everyone should bask in the day-star once in a while. ;D
I know you're out there! If this sounds like you, please say hello. All hailing frequencies are open!
Facts About Me That May Be Dealbreakers For You:
On kids: I really like children and I know I would be a great parent, but they're not a priority in my life right now. Maybe they will be some day, or maybe they won't. I would like to keep the topic open for discussion, so if you're someone who MUST have kids or will NEVER have kids, I may not be the best person for you. Adoption is also totally on the table for me (possibly even preferred).
On religion: I am not religious at all. I have a scientific worldview and consider myself a fairly rooted atheist. I don't begrudge people their religious beliefs, but I won't be attending your Sunday service or prayer group. If religion is a big part of your life then I'm probably not your ideal candidate.
On pets: I love animals! I have a kitty and she is my fat, precious angel. I'm also a fan of dogs and other furry creatures. I cannot imagine life without pets, so if you're averse to animals then I'm probably not for you.
