I'm a journalist who makes a lot of bad puns and odd TV references. I'm really good at googling (I can beat anybody in a research race) and I'm an extraordinarily slow eater - both facts which get a lot of attention in my workplace.
Some more fun facts: I like watching movies, reading, reading in bars, baseball (go Giants!), spy novels, traveling, museums, writing, cooking, dancing, puppies, Steph Curry, beer, whiskey and red wine, old things (I dream of being on Antiques Roadshow one day), wandering around the city, British TV (especially crime shows and comedies), dancing...etc.
(Self-summaries are hard!)
Also, I can name all the countries in the world (yes, really). I know, I know. It brings all the boys to the yard.
I also have an excellent home bar, and I'm always looking for good new drink recipes. Send 'em my way!
As for music, I'll give anything a listen, but my favorite genres are oldies and classic rock, crusty old blues, classic r&b and soul, bluegrass, and Prince. I also have a pretty kick ass vinyl collection.
My favorite books are The Power of One, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail, The Groucho Letters, all Sherlock Holmes, All the President's Men, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, Just Kids, The Art of Fielding, The Secret History, the Tales of the City series, Harry Potter (obviously), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Confederacy of Dunces, and Up in the Old Hotel.
And movies - I really love watching movies. Actually, the worst thing about New York is that movie tickets are damn expensive; I have a somewhat embarrassing habit of going to the movies before noon because the tickets are half price.
