I need a new profile pic, I have shaved. This one is only a year old. For those who care I am on the exact cusp of Virgo/Leo.

I have changed things around: I am looking for activities partners but they have removed that option from the ones that show up. I have waited too long for the perfect one to come along and want to have some fun company with someone who enjoys some of the things I do.
One activity would be First or Last Friday Art Walks in Topeka and Lawrence. I have a strong Art background and have had some work on display in the Topeka NOTO area. I have 2 degrees in Art from ESU in Emporia. [BA was with KSTC before the name change] I had to go to a vo-tech to learn Electronics and find a job,
Another activity would be to find folks who would want to watch my DVD collection with me. Things I have seen many times are more fun with company. Of course I would want to what you have that I do not.
I have some Drama , A lot of Science Fiction and Sci Fi [points if you know the difference], Anime, like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving castle, Ghost in The Machine and other titles with very good art and animation. Asian Fantasy and Chinese Kung Fu that are not just beat 'em up flicks. Some are actually good dramas.
Old B&W movies, Bogart, a lot of William Powell, including all the Thin Man series, etc. Some old westerns, including comic ones, like Cat Ballou, and Big Hand For A Little Lady.
Babylon 5, Buffy, Star Trek, CSI [the 1st] and Law and Order.
Old TV shows like Perry Mason - some of the best drama that was ever on TV, The Man From Uncle, Patrick McGoohan in Danger man [Secret Agent Man in US]. Am I the only one to remember The Challengers? 3 British agents who crashed in the Himalayas and were 'remade' to have powers? It was in the USA one summer around 1969 along with The Avengers. yes, I have The Avengers, too.
"You can tell that a guy has no girlfriend by the fact that he has no sofa." That's me. Chairs only.
Let's be friends or at least acquaintances with the same interests.
The last 1st date I had via OKCupid was an Art Walk with a woman who was shorter than me but who walked almost twice as fast as I did and who disappeared on her own in the crowded galleries. If she did not think I looked like someone she wanted to date, I would have enjoyed it if she had just told me. For the Art Walks I would like to be with someone with no pressure, just 2 folks who enjoy art.
If you have gotten this far: In "Other Photos" I have a few examples of my Photo Art. PS: I am fairly poor. I won't ask for help on that score - I say this as I have seen profiles that warn they will not interact with those that ask for money. _ just warning that buying a house together is not in my future.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to survive the recession. Spending a lot of time in on-line art groups. Traveling around the area taking landscape photos. Spending time Photoshop processing these photos.
I’m really good at
Painting. Puns. Trivia. Photography. Making people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
Quick mind, especially puns and word games. Cats like me.
Lately, I get comments on the beard I have been growing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Love both science Fiction Movies and Sci-Fi Movies. Horror suspense vs horror splatter - old monster movies!. Sci-Fi is pronounced "Skiffy. Science fiction has levels and layers like all good drama. Sci-fi is full of plot holes, etc, but, is fun. Andromeda Strain, both book and movie, is Science Fiction. Star Wars is Sci-fi.
Classic movies like Casablanca and anything with Loy and Powell.
--Peaceful electronica, loud 60's rock. Loud electronica, softer 60's rock. Individual singer/songwriters like Happy Rhodes, Tori Amos; and if you like KaTe Bush, we will be friends forever.
-- Science Fiction books (surprise!) Mysteries. Esoterica - physics/mind connections and if there are any. Histories that are interesting. Simple books like Ray Bradbury's stuff. Thicker reading like Eco's Foucault's Pendulum. Uncle Scrooge comics: yes, I said it!
-- Hate black pepper, love red pepper. can't cook. -- Went to Nelson Museum's Frida Kahlo exhibition on an OKCupid 1st date. Took pics.
Six things I could never do without
DVD collection, book collection, record (CD) collection, camera, and at least 2 more things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Very trivial mind stuff and word salad. How addictive Peach Tea is. Why there is no "not at all" option for the languages in the "details" column. I need one to go with the Sanskrit I chose.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not noticing that it is Friday and doing whatever is on my mind.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not rich.
You should message me if
You are an ex-hippie or at least hippie-ish in your head, a non-republican or if I can't tell that about you, an art and movie lover. Or, even close to these labels.
