Yes it's true.
And no it's not a bad thing! (well, most of the time).
If you've seen the show The Big Bang Theory I'm more of a Leonard than a Sheldon. If you haven't seen the show then you're familiar with the stereotypical geek (socially awkward/inept, can only speak geek (and probably Klingon), doesn't know how to socialize with women, etc). Well... that's not me. While I do speak geek (but not Klingon!) but I also enjoy having real conversations and debates about a variety of subjects. I'll even talk politics if need be ;).
One attribute of being a geek that is true is that I spend a lot of time on my computer. That said, I will get out and do activities on the occasion but have yet to really find an outdoor activity that I truly enjoy (except golf but we all know that it's not the most physically challenging sport out there). I am willing try things though.
I enjoy traveling and although I've visited a few areas, there is still more that I have yet to see!
There's lots more to know about me but if you're curious, you can always ask ;)
For movies and shows I enjoy most forms of comedy, action, violence (gratuitous violence mainly in comedic instances only i.e. the expendables), cheese, british (yeah I'm a guy, you know we like those kinds of movies!). I'm not really in horror although I enjoy some survivor-style (no not reality TV!!) shows such as The Walking Dead or Jericho (a great show which didn't last).
Some would say that my taste in music is under-developed. I enjoy alternative style mainly however I'll listen to most other styles (but no country! I would need some *very* serious bribes for that!)
In the past couple of years I discovered Indian food. Very tasty stuff. It helps that where I work we have had a few Indians come over and share their food (and recipes). I also enjoy trying different styles of food but I admit that without the appropriate motivation (i.e. some to enjoy the meal with) I won't get out as much.
