Living and working in Shunde, Guangzhou.
English-speaking only, please. I'm Chinese, but I cannot speak mandarin fluently. My first language is English.
Otherwise I'm fantasizing about my next vacation, watching truckloads of films, plays, and musicals, binge watching tv series, reading, and dreaming of how to make the world a better place.
1. Leon: the Professional
2. Citizen Kane
3. Hiroshima mon amour (I cried!)
5. The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo
I also like Christopher Nolan films, animated films like Spirited Away, Disney's Zootopia, and occasionally enjoy meta-shows like "Her", "Goodbye Dragon Gate Inn", "Inception" and "Gone Girl". I appreciate the cinematography in art-house films especially Wong Kai Wai-styles, but I'm not sure why I'm no longer drawn as I was before to the heart-wrenching narratives loss characteristic in WKW's works. Why are/must Asian films always be about losing and loss? :(
Books: I haven't read a lot of fiction in a long long while *shame* because I was a literature major before. But right now, I'm reading a non-fiction on life in the White House from the point of view of butlers and maids. It's more gossipy than good though. Even Lit majors devour trashy books on some days, ok! :)
Games: I was briefly interested in games. Love beautiful games, indie games, and games with literary narratives. A more truthful characterization? I enjoy sampling them more than I do playing them. ('Cos I always lose lah.). Passionate players of Warcraft and DOTA, feel free to convince me of its allure.
I love musicals.
I'm not a huge fan of music, but if you are, please introduce me to it!
Lastly, FOOD. I love my dim sum and sashimi and cheese and wine and occasionally whisky.
