I'm looking forward to restarting fencing, since i took a break while doing my Master's degree. I love fencing which I’ve been doing for a decade now. The thing that I enjoy the most about it is matching wits with my opponents. Also: swords! What isn’t to like about that? :D
I also enjoy cooking and baking and I’m pretty good at both. My first degree was in the sciences and I see these activities as chemistry that I can eat. I prefer baking to cooking and I love baking bread. The smell of fresh baked bread has no equal in this world. I am also a committed meat-eater and meat cooker.
Other activities include swimming (since before I could walk), trying to read ALL the books, and hanging out with my friends.
According to my friends, co-workers, etc my brownies are excellent. Unfortunately this means they always ask me to make them for potlucks, which means they are missing out on other awesomeness that I can cook or bake.
-If my hair isn't up people tend to notice my hair - long and curly.
-People at the library tend to notice the giant stack of books I'm carrying. Either that or they think one of the shelves has attacked someone and is trying to bury them in books.
-Fencers tend to notice I am left handed, and so does anyone who tries to use scissors in my apartment.
My favorite move of all time is Galaxyquest - good comedy AND science fiction? Awesomesauce! Others that I enjoy include A Fish Called Wanda, The Incredibles, The Mark of Zorro (1940), and The Princess Bride.
Recently I've been watching and enjoying Star Trek, Castle, Doctor Who, True Blood, BSG, and The Big Bang Theory.
My taste in music is more limited. Radios have Issues with me, they tend to break down when I touch them. This means in the pre-internet days I was limited to music available at the library. However, I do like classical music, jazz, classic rock and pop (pre 1970s mostly), and Broadway show tunes.
I like most types of food that aren't spicy and don't include fish.
