My self-summary
*I currently live in Tokyo but I'm planning on moving to Seattle in 8 months or so, so I'm interested in meeting some folks on the ground before I arrive.*

Polyamorous lipstick librarian here. I love to read, write, take photos, ride my bike, go to art museums, nerd out on the internet, attempt recipes from online cooking sites, walk long dogs (doxie fan for life), obsess over HBO dramas, purchase MAC cosmetics and drink craft beers.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying my career as a hot librarian, learning Japanese, working on art projects, evolving into a runner, obsessing over Best of the Year reading lists, watching contouring videos on youtube, snuggling on the couch with my pup, drinking coffee until cocktail hour, writing ceaselessly and bike commuting.
I’m really good at
Drawing, writing, listening to other's problems, doing makeup, advising people on what beers to try, offering reading recommendations, reviewing and adding metadata to everything on earth.
The first things people usually notice about me
My curves and my curls.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Librarians are a breed are known for voracious book consumption and I am no different. My favorite writers include Kafka, Haruki Murakami, Yoko Ogawa, George Saunders, Junot Diaz, Bill Bryson, Banana Yoshimoto, Karen Russell, Barry Yourgrau (absurdist micro fiction, swooon) and Cheryl Strayed.

Books: The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson, A Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Michael Dorris, The African Safari Papers by Robert Sedlack, Tipping the Velvet by Sara Waters, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, South of the Border West of the Sun by Haruki Murakami, Wild by Cheryl Strayed, The Telling Room by Michael Paterniti, The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan, The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, Just Kids by Patti Smith, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and Fun Home by Alison Bechdel are just a few of the books I love with my whole heart.

Movies: The Fall, Bad Santa, History of Violence, The Prestige, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Hot Rod, Stranger than Fiction, Gattaca, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, The Game, Running Scared (it's so wonderfully atrocious), Frida, Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle, The Iron Giant, and pretty much any horror film.

Shows: I'm a media junkie obsessed with a good storyline. Right now I'm frothing at the mouth over The Knick and Fargo. Current obsessions and past loves include Breaking Bad, 6 Feet Under, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and You're the Worst (for a little levity).

Music: I'm constantly looking for new music to work out to, add to my naked dance party playlists or to serve as a subtle backdrop to my endless internet surfing. All time favorites include: Phoenix, Passion Pit, Putamayo World Music, The Jackson 5, Third Eye Blind, Brown Derbies, Marry Me Jane, Ani Difranco, Red Hot Chili Peppers and MIKA. I love a lot of junky pop music and have no shame about that fact. Musical elitism is boring and unoriginal.

Food: Sweet tea, meat and potatoes (southern lady here). For my last meal I'd go with one of the following: a burger and fries, a pork quesadilla (from Taco Bus specifically), a schnitzel with hot potato salad or chicken pad thai. I pretty much eat anything except seafood, and I'm working on that one.
The six things I could never do without
The Internet (blogs, computers, everything entailed)

Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Books, current events, GLBTQ issues, healthy living, goal setting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at the bar with friends, staying in with a good book or movie and some vodka tonics or having people over for an impromptu living room dance party followed by karaoke at our neighborhood dive.
You should message me if
You're a thoughtful, considerate, fun loving, talkative person. If you're into open relationships - I help run a poly tokyo meetup group and it's a great group, we would love to have more awesome people. If you currently live in Japan. I'm looking for people to actually connect with, so I'm not interested in meeting anyone who is just passing through on a vacation.
