My self-summary
I'm a curious, lively and highly literate guy looking for fun times and interesting conversations. I can be very opinionated but I hate conflict, at least when I'm involved in it, but I do love a good discussion. I consider myself kind, compassionate and fairly passionate, but who can really say that about themselves.
I'm currently studying literature at HÍ and hope to make something of that.
If you don't believe that the working class has been continually disenfranchised by the buddy-buddy banking class of Iceland, we're probably going to get in a lot of arguments, but that could be fun.
While I'm writing this I might as well mention that my first name is Ívar.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm working on a B.A. In literature and hanging with my friends.
I’m really good at
Talking for hours. Finding obscure information.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm outspoken. If I disagree with someone I will generally make them aware of this. I'm a tidy dresser.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favourite movies are: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Django (1966), The Maltese Falcon, Zoolander and Videodrome.
My favourite books, currently: Independent People (Sjálfstætt fólk), The Great Gatsby, LA Confidential, anything by P.G. Woodehouse and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Favourite Shows: Monty Python's flying circus, Wooster and Jeeves, The Wire, Mad Men.
I love most kinds of music, but I'm not overly fond of hard rock and it's subgenres. I love jazz, blues, disco, musicals, rap, funk, hiphop, RnB. I enjoy softer rock, so long as it has a good beat and bassline. I Do listen to quite a bit of more modern disco, of the sort the Scissor Sisters make.
I've a great interest in cinema, especially films from the '50s-'70s and more thoughtful films.
I love comedy of all kinds, but prefer that it is self-aware and requires you to think.
Six things I could never do without
A good book, I'm reading two at any given moment, so I can barely keep track.
A good friend to talk about cinematography and comedy, I have a few of those.
A stiff drink or kind bud.
Access to theater or art, I love art of all kinds.
Pen and paper, I don't write a lot or very well, but I love doing it.
honesty. (Jeez)
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging with my friends or drinking, usually both.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've had a sexual fantasy involving Timothy Dalton's version of James Bond.
