My self-summary
I have always tried to live a caring, connected life.

I am very empathic to peoples feelings, dreams and struggles.

In my career, I have used my academic success in multiple disciplines to foster individual human success and social justice.

Away from work, I have emphasized personal relationships. I am considered a very sentimental, nurturing fellow who loves to make people laugh. I am generally considered very unboring. I have some great hobbies that seem to make me fun to interact with. I occasionally perform stand up comedy, watch movies of all types, love great music and writing, try to keep very informed, and am an expert duplicate bridge and poker player.

Overall, I am very comfortable in a wide range of situations, am adventurous, and love involved conversations of all sorts.

I think that a compatible sense of humour is very important, so its one of the most important things that I look for in new friends.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a child and adolescent clinical psychologist and psycholegal research psychologist who has worked in numerable settings on a wide range of projects. I also have worked with a wide range of populations.

I am a member of PFLAG, interersted in the research related to GLBTQ families, and advocate for these families where I can.

My range of books is very wide, anything from psychology to card play to politics to humor. Most recently I have been reading a lot of plays, playwriting books and books on GLBTQ issues.

Television Shows that I appreciate are: The Wire; The West Wing; The Newsroom; Aaron Sorkin's Sportsnight; Homeland; Freaks and Geeks; My So Called Life; Modern Family; The sopranos; Friday Nights Light; Sex and the City; Dream on; Dead like me; Room 222.

I love almost any kind of tasty food, my favorites are cambodian, ethiopian, hong kong and northern italian.

I love clever, or interesting composed music. I particularly like broadway.
Six things I could never do without
The laughter, and stories from my children, walking with a joyful friend, great movies, the very left wing political cable channel called msnbc, broadway or off broadway plays, and making people laugh.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical is just not a word that has ever been applied to me. I could be performing relatively edgy stand up comedy, playing poker (been an expert for years), or just generally enjoying an adventurous life. And of course I also can be caught doing standard stuff, like hanging with family or friends, going to movies, other peoples comedy shows, the theatre, etc etc.
You should message me if
If your best friends tend to be quick witted, interesting, extremely loyal, nonjudgemental types, then you probably would enjoy my company. Cuz people who know me seem to find me to be a funny warm hearted person who is good to have in your corner.
