My self-summary
I'm a musician and performer, and involved in a bunch of different bands and scenes here. I get to make music every day. Hurrah!

I'm a biker.
I'm a baker.
I believe in community, and care about the people in my life I share time and space with.

I'm a feminist, anti-racist, sex positive, bi person.
High brow / low brow boundary straddler.
I like dirty jokes.

I'm kind of a goofball, and try to discover innovative and absurd expletives as regularly as possible. Hurrah!
What I’m doing with my life
I play guitar and a bunch of stringy things. I do lots of rock and roll music. I sing and dance. I sweat and bend strings. I write songs, and perform them. I've built a small home studio, and i'm expanding that as a business. I do a fair (though not excessive) amount of touring. I teach in town. I do lots of jewish folk musics, particularly yiddish language stuff. In 2013 I'm releasing an EP of original material on the first of each month. It's a big fucken project! I also love to be a cog in the machine in other peoples' band / projects / parties / massive queer arty explosions, book readings, etc etc etc.
I’m really good at
I bake a damn fine bread. I make a damn fine pizza. I roast a damn fine chicken. I fry a damn fine fish filet. YES> i like to cook and I'm pretty good at it.

I'm a good musician, and always tryin to get better by picking up new skills and writing new and challenging stuff.

I'm also a pretty caring person, loyal to my friends and supportive of the people I care about.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hair migration from head to chest.

Distinguished brow contorting into questioning or insinuating poses.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
um... condensing:

basically anything with royal convictions, from King Curtis to King Crimson to Queen to Prince to King Sunni Ade to Queen Latifa to Duke Ellington to Count Basie to Princess Tinymeat.

dystopian novels, science fiction, most Vonnegut, all Octavia Butler, The Big Book of Jewish Humor which i read nightly from age 10 - 14.

lately a netflix junky with weaknesses for raunchy serial comedy and star trek. meh.

I tend towards healthy and nourishing.
Except for when I don't.
Six things I could never do without
revamping this in a somewhat more earnest vein...
here goes! not in any particular order.

1) a guitar.
i have about 10, electrics + acoustics, several amps, and other instruments, and mics and other toys... really though all i need is one guitar. so there's that.

2) a cast iron pan.
a gift from the gods. prometheus stole fire, then marched right back to olympus, slapped zeus across the face and took his cast iron pan. what an awesome thing.

3) my health.
tfu tfu tfu.
i had a very scary summer last year, where I didn't have my health for a little while. anyhoo - i'm all better and even stronger and faster and jump higher. but that was some scary shit.

4) my family.
first they made me.
then they made me nuts.
now it's cool.
love my brother + parents, and small doses on the regular seems like a good plan particularly with the 'rents.

5) a bicycle.
so actually this is a lie, because i'd be totally fine sans bike. but life's a lot more fun with a fast ridin 2 wheeled beast beneath my loins. hehe.

6) pen and paper.
gotta have it. how else do i remember the lyrics ???
I spend a lot of time thinking about
MUSIC. Songwriting, records I love, records I want to make, bands I admire, bands I can't stand, recording technology, good songs.

SEX. Because its fun. Responsibly of course!

Makin MONEY. I'm an artist..... so I gotta make rent. It's on the mind.

FRIENDS! Because they're my friends!

also sex.
On a typical Friday night I am

making dinner and drinking some beer.

Is there really such a thing as a typical Friday ???
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You may have noticed I'm a bald person. That started strong at age 15. I've basically looked exactly the same for over half my life.

You should message me if
If you want to challenge me to a bake off.

If the changing of the seasons in the warmer direction makes you frisky. Hurrah!

If you enjoy searching for ice creams with no cream. (lactard who loves frozen stuff)

I'm up for pretty much anything, but when I listen to that pernicious heart that sits in my bosom, I'm looking for something on the more lasting side. Not to say quick and dirty is on the outs. But in a perfect world I'd find someone I could repeat quick and dirty with pretty regularly.
The two of us
