My self-summary
What am I looking for? A seed. If you are looking to lockdown and start building the white picket fence you and I are already off on the wrong foot. I've got too much that I still want to do. If you are bored, lonely, or new to the city and want to see a show or check some event hit me up. I'm a pretty low pressure person sometimes to a fault(my last long term girlfriend asked me to ask her for her phone number)

I was born in rural Pennsylvania, but have lived in the city for 6 years. Sometimes I miss having a forest in my backyard.

I am a recovering roamer. Prior to settling in Philly, I travelled full time as a consultant, tried my hand at long distance hiking, and drifted around the country in my car.

Right now I live in a funky 3rd floor walkup in Fairmount with my old lady beagle. Weather permitting I try to use my bike as my primary mode of transportation.
What I’m doing with my life
I am software engineer. If you are into what I do it will sound awesome. If you aren't it will sound very boring.

I am big into online communities and collaborative creation. I am an active member of github, reddit, and stackoverflow(though I don't tweet for some reason).

I play a lot of obscure board games and so do all my friends.

I play pool seriously and competitively. I'm generally practicing Saturday and Sunday afternoon, but I'm flexible when brunch is involved.

I am obsessed with politics foreign and domestic. I almost always vote blue but I can see nuance and value in a number of conservative policies. Its not important to me that you love politics, but if that sort of thing bothers you...
I’m really good at
Pool(obviously.) I can touch type 100 words per minute.

I have a mean ping pong game.

I can walk very long distances(seriously ask my dog I drag her out for minimum of 2 miles every morning).

I've played guitar for 18 years. I can pass for good if you don't know anything about guitar. So whatever I still like to play.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a beard unless I don't then if you know me its that startling lack of beard that will catch your eye.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read ... a lot. Fiction, Non-Fiction, reference I hit them all. I just threw down Crime and Punishment after 250 pages. Sorry Fyodr. My running list that I can remember 1776, Geek Sublime, Crime and Punishment, GEB, Chaos, and The Information.

Music? Super important that you like music, but chances are we'll never experience genre mesh. A guy can hope.
Jazz - Art Blakey, Oscar Peterson, Yusef Lateef.
Bass Legends - Larry Graham, Mingus, Stanley Clark.
Punk Rock - The Damned, Bad Religion, Bad Brains
Talking heads, Gang Of Four, Richard Hell, Bowie, Tom Waits, Magnetic Fields.... the list goes on and on.

Other than that I am pretty big into metal, hip/hop, folk, and country.

I am not a big TV person, but I am up to date on Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire. I also watch the Daily Show ... on a weekly basis.

In summary, I love Errol Morris documentaries and the last 3 movies I watched were Akira, Chronicle, and Jodorowsky's Dune
The six things I could never do without
Laptop, Pool Cue, Bike, Chromecast, Internet, one quality chef's knife.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Risk.

numbers.

How you can add two clouds together and get one cloud.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am week to week so this one is hard to pin down. I really like the idea of inviting a friend(s) to a sufficiently distant gastropub and riding my bike there for a beer and dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I secretly hope to find someone on here who is 100% enemy. That and I enjoy schlocky 90's country music.
