I'm on the taller side, with blue eyes, and black hair. I don't smoke. I love music, cars, technology, history, and science, and would call myself a geek that doesn't look like one (apart from wearing glasses).
I love Halloween and wish it happened more than once a year. haha :) I really enjoy going out on adventures - Amusement parks, museums, historical sites and live music are among my favorites; far from an exhaustive list though, and I'm always up for something new and different too. Whether staying in or going out, I find it's more about the company than the location or activity.
I'm looking for a great partner in crime. Someone who's fun to talk to, but also nice to spend quiet time with; who's in to doing fun Halloween stuff, up for wandering drives through the country side, going to concerts, hiking a trail, climbing a mountain, kissing under a waterfall, or just relaxing at home curled up together on the couch.
If you're wondering about the name, well, I'm Irish (and German). About says it all. hah! Check out the Irishman from Braveheart. They captured it(/us) perfectly. :D (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs8QKXtCN9w <- ignore the unfortunate backing music)
Working out and eating better, and getting in better shape. - Dropped about 42lbs over the course of 16 months; and have kept it off for almost 2 years now. (Progression visible in the pics in reverse order)
Learning to cook better along the way as well.
Always on a quest to learn things, whether new skills or just new information. Above all, trying to have fun.
There's more, but that can be saved for the process of getting to know each other.
Movies: So many! I'll just mention a few (in NO particular order) - Smokey and the Bandit, History of the World, Hitchhikers' Guide, Snatch, most Marx Brothers movies (yes, they are old, but they are positively hilarious!), Jacki Chan movies, James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean (series), Sherlock Holmes (series), Iron Man (series), Ghost Rider, Chris Nolan's Batman (a lot of other superhero movies too, come to think of it), Lord of the Rings... I could go on for days trying to think of them all. :)
TV: Top Gear (UK, the original), Doctor Who, South Park, Futurama, Tosh.0, Inside Amy Schumer, Naked and Afraid, The Universe, Yard Crashers, Indoors Out, Bar Rescue, Modern Marvels, Fast 'n Loud, Wheeler Dealers, America's Secret Slang, Mysteries at the Museum, Brew Dogs, DareDevil, The Curse of Oak Island, and lots of assorted History, Science and comedy specials.
Music: A bit all over the place here, obscure to well known, and most styles. To name a few in no order - Luke Bryan, Dio, The Rippingtons, Delerium, Nightwish, Front Line Assembly, Conjure 1, Jason Aldean, Iced Earth, The Pirates Charles, Juno Reactor, Epica, ZZ Top, Halestorm, George Thorogood, Lindsey Stirling, Fear Factory, Switchblade Symphony, Steel Panther, Weird Al, Sabaton, Devo.... Would take ages to list everything. I listen to the radio a lot too, and YouTube and Pandora, surfing for a mix, including dance and pop music. Two Steps From Hell and Immediate make for excellent workout music. New find: Unleash The Archers and Frog Leap Studios (YouTube)
When it comes to Food, I like a variety of things - love sushi and sashimi and seafood in general, chicken, steak, Chinese, and Italian; also cheese steaks, burgers, etc. as well. Not quite "a little of everything", but I would say a lot of different things.
- My curiosity and sense of adventure
- Nature (visiting the city can be fun, but I crave forests, & [seemingly] untouched natural vistas, whether beaches, mountains, deserts, or what-have-you)
- Sunscreen, and/or shade (much as I love sunny weather, being Irish/German, it's not good for me. lol)
- My car (and truck) <-not just any random vehicles, those particular ones.
- Good food and drink
(yes, more than 6, but it can't be helped)
Why do so many say 'nerd' when they really mean 'geek'?
As I watch America's Secret Slang, Watters World, and more, I can't help but wonder why so many people seem so lost on such basic things. What happened?
How much it sucks that townships allow mass deforestation to go on, followed by overcrowding (insult to injury being that it's just so that they can get more in taxes).
Why do people talk about "super foods"? Super how and as compared to what? It's just proper food. Mayhaps we've lost sight of what food really is...
Why is everything a "trick" (or "weird trick") or a "hack" these days (even though it's almost never any of the above)?
I've always wanted a Viking-style Great Hall (aka Mead Hall). Or the room the Pirate Kings held court in in PoTC 3 would work too.
