My self-summary
Hi single men!

I'm looking to meet someone fun I can share the things I love with - be that going for a bike ride, a run, chilling out watching a film, in the pub for a few glasses of wine or cooking a nice meal at home. Someone who can challenge and inspire me. There totally is more to life than being in a relationship, but at the same time I really do miss having that close emotional and physical connection with a man.

I play hockey every week so like to keep fit and would like to meet someone who is equally as sporty - who can motivate me by joining in exercise with me. Love getting out on the hockey pitch each Saturday, so I guess supporting on the side line would be mandatory! I ran the marathon a couple of years back and definitely need a new challenge for the next year. Any ideas?

Friends are important to me and I regularly get together with my mates. A few drinks in town, or round someone's house with a bbq and hot tub. Though less of the bbqs recently... Holidays are a passion too - I love going to new places - last year was Cuba, this year Sweden and the Northern Lights and of course the obligatory beach holiday given I am a sun worshipper. I am not against pasty white men as long as you're happy to lie on a beach or by a pool once we've done the 'doing' bit of the holiday!

In terms of what I look for in a guy, honesty is probably top of my 'list'. A man who is caring, fun, ambitious, sincere, genuine and intelligent is really important to me. I can't stand arrogance. It's important to me to be with someone who is friend and family orientated, likes to be with a girly girl, is happy with where he is in life having acheived dreams but equally has goals still to be reached. Someone with an appetite for life and with time for me to be in it! Life's too short to worry about things which may not happen (the big 30 this year has put things in perspective, (as did the hangover)...) - so someone who makes things happen with their life I find inspiring.

I look forward to meeting you over a glass of vino or a beer, so get in touch if you think we may have that elusive connection...

Gem x
What I’m doing with my life
I work at a media agency which is fun with definite perks such as Ascot, lunches and trips away, but at the moment I definitely haven't got the work/life balance right. I need to redress this to be able to maximise the things I really want to do such as travelling, DIY, spending time with friends and appreciating lots of new opportunities whilst I still vaguely young!
I’m really good at
taking pictures on a night out or at a party. I love having a memory of the night on paper that we can turn into a book or album.
I'm also great at being a loyal friend, being there to support friends when needed, whether it's to laugh, cry, rant, moan, giggle or share a bottle of wine with.
The first things people usually notice about me
My tan (and yes it is real!), or whatever funky shoes I'm wearing!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Well I do love reading and have a wall to wall bookcase in my spare room! Absolute favourite is Birdsong but love all books by Carlos Ruiz Zafron too. Recently succombed to the 50 Shades of Grey phenomenon - sorry boys but I needed to see what all the fuss was about!
Lucky enough with my job to have some amazing lunches so I've experienced quite a few restaurants including Heston's Fat Duck which must be my all time favourite. I love going to new places but doesn't have to be fancy...a little french haunt or local italian is equally as nice and usually half the price!
Films, well lads I'm afraid I am a Dirty Dancing / Ghost lover - but then again which girl isn't?! Love going to the cinema to see all the new releases but sometime just as fun to have a night in with a bottle of vino and an old dvd. Romantic!
The six things I could never do without
Sauvignon Blanc
Holidays in the sunshine
Retail therapy!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1, where I should next go on holiday
2, how much more DIY there needs to be done on my flat
3, why I am over stressing at work when life is just too short
On a typical Friday night I am
Round a friend's house chilling with a glass or two of wine, or at the cinema, or heading down to my parents for a weekend of pampering, or trying not to be too hungover before my Saturday hockey match, or heading up north for a weekend away with uni mates.... Love spontaneity - I don't plan all my weekends out in advance.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm trying to try not too hard to meet someone I really want to be with, but at the same time absolutely cannot wait to meet that special person and get butterflies every time I think about it possibly happening.
You should message me if
You've got to the bottom of this enormous essay and are feeling it would be worth getting to know each other more over a bottle of vino...
