My self-summary
I'm looking for someone to entice me off the couch, out of the house to explore and have fun. Museums, concerts, parks, restaurants, etc. In other words, if you don't live in the Chicago metro area, then it's kind of pointless. I'm an outgoing, talkative person and I like guys that can hold up their end of the conversation.

I enjoy craft beer and a good red wine. I love the checking out the abundance of craft breweries that have sprung up in the Chicago area.

I think you need at least two photos of yourself on your profile, just to show you're a real person and not a fake user.

Sorry to be blunt, but I'm a non-believer. While I respect others beliefs, if your profile mentions God, Jesus, church or the bible, then I'm not a good fit for you and prefer you don't waste my time and yours by contacting me.

I'm trying to stay focused on some short terms goals I have right now.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My all time favorite book is "To Kill A Mockingbird", and the movie is one of my favorites too. I gravitate to mysteries and detective stories. I'm always on the lookout for a new series to read.

I probably watch too much TV. I like cop shows, drama, and a few comedies. I especially enjoy BBC mysteries.

Someday I'd like to trace my ancestry back a little further, which is why I like the TV shows "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Finding Your Roots".

My musical tastes are all over the place, maybe because I get bored listening to the same music over and over.
Six things I could never do without
My friends and family-but doesn't everybody say that? Everybody needs the love and support of friends and family.
Books-I have to have reading material nearby at all I used to work in a bookstore which was pretty cool.
Optimism. That's what gets you through the rough spots.
My cell phone because I no longer have a house phone.

Why do 20-somethings and 30-somethings message me on OKCupid while 40-somethings are messaging my 20-something daughter.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out with friends or relaxing at home after a busy week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You should message me if
You enjoy a good conversation and good company.

I think there's room in this world for many different ideas, beliefs and opinions. However, if you have strong religious beliefs, attend church regularly, believe homosexuality is a sin, think women don't have the right to choose, we most likely would not be very compatible.
