My self-summary
I am quirky, loyal, and intelligent.

I consider myself to be a post-structural feminist and a believer in some pretty radical politics. While this might seem very abrasive initially, deep down I'm a nerdy girl who enjoys jigsaw puzzles and video games.

My proudest accomplishment is my bachelor's degree from a prestigious women's college in Massachusetts. Single-sex education isn't for everyone, but it shaped my life in so many positive ways. Everything from my choice of career to my kinks can be attributed to my experiences there.

I don't actually consider myself a ginger because it seems the hairs on my head change color with the seasons. My screen name is composed of two parts- Ginger: my favorite spice girl, and something I like to eat raw; and my first name spelled backwards.

I also find it sort of odd that Gay/Straight/Bisexual are the only options for orientation. Honestly, I'm all/none of those things. Think my of sex life like an electron, it's both a particle and a wave but never simultaneously.
What I’m doing with my life
I care very passionately about women's health and access to reproductive health services.

I'm currently living in West Philly/University City and working on my master's. I'm a busy girl, but I need distractions from school. I love hitting up bars with my friends or discovering new restaurants, but it turns that my grad student budget is tight and I love a good deal.

When I'm not in the city, I've been camping recently. Pennsylvania is gorgeous at any time of the year and I love hiking, swimming, and sleeping outdoors.
I’m really good at
being a friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses
my smile
my hair
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- It is tricky for me to talk about books because I've read (and re-read) so many. An obscure book which was very influential for me growing up was Perks of Being a Wallflower. I didn't really need many more reasons to love Pittsburgh or Rocky Horror, but there you go.

Movies- My Netflix queue reads something like this: Steamy Gay and Lesbian Foreign Dramas or Gritty Documentaries about Real Life. Make of that what you will...

Shows- Like my taste in movies, I like my TV to be as wacky as possible.

Music- Gotta love Mashups. Most of the stuff I listen to is pop that is sort of outdated. Anything of the rock or alternative category is also acceptable.

Food- I'm down for any ethnic cuisine, but usually what I cook is pretty good too.
Six things I could never do without
My Sins:
Food (Gluttony)
Sex (Lust)
Naps (Sloth)

I also enjoy hanging out with my family, and spending time in New England.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. I think a lot about my own influence on the world and what role I can play in changing it. If I feel secure knowing what I'll be doing far in the future, I can cut loose and enjoy what I'm doing this instant.

I really dig queer theory and anti-assimilation politics. As a result, I like thinking about all of the experiences in our lives that "queer" us.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, finding a party or just mellowing out from the week.

I like going to bars with friends as much as I like snuggling on the sofa and watching TV. I usually like to kick off the weekend with a nice dinner out, followed by some time spent at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
For as preppy and WASP-y as I might appear, I really dig piercings. The ones I have are all really meaningful to me. The idea that I can scar my body to represent a significant life event is extremely appealing.

I've always liked football, but for the last few years I've been *really* into it. The best thing my ex ever did for me was introduce me to NFL Redzone. How did I not realize that existed?! Anyway, born in Pittsburgh I'm a die-hard Steelers fan, although I won't deny that I have a soft spot for the Patriots too. I'm pretty convinced that the Pats lost Super Bowl XLVI because that September I went on a date instead of watching their first game of the season. Tragic.
You should message me if
You should just plain message me. Reading wacky okc messages makes my day.

More seriously, you should message me if you read something about me that strikes your fancy. Who knows, we could be awesome friends.
School takes up a significant portion of my time, but lately I've been feeling quite isolated from city life. I really want a more full, rich and complete emotional life complete with confidants, lovers, and partners in crime.
Let me know if you fit the bill, and I'll make room in my busy schedule for adventuring.
The two of us
