My self-summary
Can you summarize yourself in a paragraph or two? I don't think you can. Let's do this thing.

I'm the guy that's constantly trying to make people laugh, especially when I'm around friends. It's really a constant battle of all of us trying to one up each other. This core group of friends manages to keep me sane and loving life.

Well, them and my wonderful family. They rule. Prepare to hear a lot of amusing anecdotes about them if you ever meet me.

I'm a not so closeted nerd that still enjoys an occasional night playing video games or a good debate about the finer points of Star Wars and/or Lord of the Rings. I'd love to meet a girl that would enjoy nerding out with me.

I like to indulge in a good debate about politics or religion; I love playing my guitar, singing, and listening to music; and you're more likely to hear me talk about soccer than pretty much anything else. I'm still sad about the U.S. getting knocked out of the World Cup. Just...I need some time, okay?

All of these amazing qualities aside, I sometimes have workaholic tendencies. BUT I love, love, love my job. We're an expanding local business. I'm cherishing the next few months, because when we actually expand, I'm imagining my free time going bye-bye. I'm pretty excited about it!

I'll say this as well: I'm looking for the real thing. I'm not super active on here anymore, but I thought I'd update this thing and see what happens. If you want casual and have no ambition of being in a relationship, I'm probably not the guy you wanna talk to.
What I’m doing with my life
I like making music, writing random things, reading (not as much as I should), playing golf (whenever I get out of the city), riding my beautiful bicycle all over this wonderful city.

My job RULES. Thriving locally owned business, and I'm super stoked to be a part of it.
I’m really good at
I like to sing and play guitar. I like to bowl and play golf. I also like poker, drinking good beer, eating good food, growing facial hair, laughing at bad jokes, making small talk, and riding my bike at excessive speeds.

I'm varying degrees of good at said things.
The first things people usually notice about me
Beard I would imagine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: The Beatles, Radiohead, Wilco, My Bloody Valentine, Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver, The Hold Steady, Atlas Sound, Deerhunter, Grizzly Bear, Drake, The Weeknd, The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Haim. Other stuff.

Movies: The Big Lebowski, High Fidelity, Amelie, Rushmore, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, The Godfather (I and II), West Side Story, Spinal Tap, Super Troopers, Shaun of the Dead. I'm also a sucker for chick flicks. It's a problem.

TV: The Wire, Breaking Bad, LOST, Arrested Development, The League, Parks and Recreation, Community, Top Gear (UK), Portlandia, Scrubs, Workaholics, 30 Rock, Louie.

Books: I'm currently reading Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris. Along with about 7 other books that I'm in the middle of, a lot of them having to do with philosophy or religion. But I read the goddamn Hunger Games trilogy in a week. I'm the worst.

Food: The kind you eat.
Six things I could never do without
Besides my family and friends and abstract ideas like laughter and love, these are the actual items I couldn't do without. All of which I probably COULD do without (except my bike).

1. My Bike
2. Guitar
3. Coffee
4. DVR
5. A good IPA
6. Coffee (important enough to list twice.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to eat for dinner. How to raise my bowling score. How to lower my golf score. How to tolerate Republicans. How to best meet a nice lady. Whether my beard looks better longer or shorter. How to write a good song. Meaning of life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes work, but on the occasion that I'm off, I like to drink beers and eat food somewhere outside of the house. I'm not averse to staying in and watching a good movie or reading a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried while watching The Notebook. Damn you, Gosling.

*Edit: I also cried watching Blue Valentine and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Fucking Gosling. You are my nemesis.
You should message me if
