My self-summary
i love bicycle riding talking coffee houses, duplicate bridge, old movies. i am hugely interested in peoples thoughts, especially those that dont seem to reflect the "party line" (i.e. original opinions--viewpoints i hadnt thought of). i love humor of almost every kind from farce and puns to the subtle (tho i dont always get the subtle right away).

I am hyperactive, bicycle riding, and philosophical
What I’m doing with my life
I have taught a wide variety of subjects over the years--english, mathematics, computer science, and a few others. i love students--particularly students who challenge the teacher and the material--after all, if the teacher cant defend the subject, maybe its not worth learning! and of course if he can defend the material the student gets a better hold of it.
I’m really good at
bicycle riding--have ridden many thousands of miles over my adult life talking. . .and listening!
The first things people usually notice about me
i dont know if i am very noticeable. is blending in noticeable?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
i love mostly non fiction (politial and economics related), but I have loved some fiction (like tom jones, catch-22). movies? hitchcock, cool hand luke, lonely are the brave, clueless, annie hall, come to mind. there is not much food i dont like (we were raised with a huge variety of food, so my whole family loves specialty foods from every country).
Six things I could never do without
oxygen, water, food, shelter are the only things i couldnt do without. at various times in my life i have been without everything else and have survived ok--even thrived. the most rewarding things in my life are friends, bicycle riding, books, bridge, television. . .
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the quandry our country is in. we are members of a very short sighted species.
On a typical Friday night I am
having family dinner with my mother and brother (and usually his wife) and nancy (our adopted sister and mothers helper).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i will probably admit anything, since i think people do EVERYTHING, so what do i have to be ashamed of? maybe thats the problem: that i am NOT ashamed of anything, even tho i have made a ton of foolish choices in my life. i guess i would try not to embarass my audience with personal revelations.
You should message me if
you feel like talking or asking any question. . .or are merely curious. i love to build new bridges (and repair old ones).
