My self-summary

First of all, I am in a poly and open relationship. If that's a deal-breaker for you, hopefully this sentence saved you from reading the rest of this profile! Not a unicorn-hunter. When I talk to people, it's on my own behalf. If you happen to get along well with my partner, that's fantastic, but there's no expectation that you do (and if you do, stopping at friendship is perfectly fine).

I am a loud and awkward ninja with a very slightly above-average number of toes who recently moved to London from Vancouver, Canada.

Passionate about way too many things. My current addictions are judo, viola, internet of things (DIY electronic gadgets), woodworking, musical theatre, backpacking, flying, and SCUBA diving.

LOVE travelling. Recently spent a month backpacking around Europe by myself, and it was amazing! Hope to do it again soon, and maybe with someone else? :) How about South America?

I am kinky, and am fairly active in the fetish/kink community. See my FetLife profile (GrassyBreakfast) for more details on that. Switch.

Also, I laugh a lot. A LOT. Please don't be offended if I start laughing for no apparent reason. I'm (probably) not laughing at you!
What I’m doing with my life
I do research in artificial intelligence at an industrial research lab, building our next friendly neighbourhood Skynet. I love my job.

Also learning to play the viola at the moment. Just picked it up a year ago! Hoping to join an amateur orchestra again at some point. I played the clarinet in an orchestra many years ago, but always wanted to play string!

I am also trying to build all my own furniture, using my living room as a workshop.
I’m really good at
Breaking things, fixing things, then breaking them again.

Silly hypothetical conversations!

Singing in the shower... good for me and sucks to be you! Sorry!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Musicals: Miss Saigon, Book of Mormon (not the book!), Matilda, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago.

Books: Harry Potter, Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars, The Aquarium, 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Sycamore Row, Belle de Jour...

Music: Most classical stuff. Not picky. Some favourites are Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and Rachmaninoff. Not a classical music buff! I know much less about music than it may appear :). Happy if you want to educate me though!

Anything Disney! Frozen, Tangled, Mulan, Toy Story, WALL-E...

Big fan of Lea Salonga. Both her works in musical theatre and in Disney.
Six things I could never do without
Sashimi, udon, travel, mental stimulation, lovely strangers.

Jute rope.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"The history of every major galactic civilization tends to pass through three distinct and recognizable phases, those of Survival, Inquiry and Sophistication, otherwise known as the How, Why, and Where phases. For instance, the first phase is characterized by the question 'How can we eat?' the second by the question 'Why do we eat?' and the third by the question 'Where shall we have lunch?"
- Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
On a typical Friday night I am
At a musical, singing in the shower, or meeting up with and/or tying up friends.
You should message me if
We sound like a good fit either as friends or potential partners!

Are passionate about things. Doesn't really matter what, but must be passionate about something that's not sleeping or watching TV!

I would especially love to hear from you if you are passionate about any of the things I am passionate about (see above)! I can talk about those things for hours at a time.

I have liked your profile but haven't sent you a message. It means I do like your profile, but haven't had time to write a message yet! I'll be very grateful if you message me first :). If not, I'll message you some time!
