My self-summary
Artist turned banker turned business owner turned student turned construction manager/artist (again), finished a masters last year and am now working in construction management and can (finally) say I love my job. I paint though not so much lately... I spend time running, walking in the woods, reading, meditating. My spiritual practice is an important part of my life.
What I’m doing with my life
Living one day at a time. Continuing to learn and grow. Making a little progress every day toward serenity. Staying in the moment. This very moment is the perfect teacher.
I’m really good at
renovating old houses, kissing, and playing the oboe. No, I don't really play the oboe, I just made that up because it sounds interesting...I guess I am only good at two things: renovating houses and kissing. Maybe I should take up the oboe...
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't wear a toupee.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Velvet Rage, The Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All, The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama. I love to look at books and magazines about houses, architecture, renovation and decorating.
Movies I love: All About Eve, Muriel's Wedding, Room With A View, Howards End, Beaches, Mary Poppins, wow--these are all girl movies, right? Never noticed that.
I like classical music, pop, and sometimes jazz. Really enjoy hearing it live but actually don't listen to music at home much.
As for food, I have a fantasy of cooking a meal together with my partner on a Friday night. That would be nice. Oh, wait, I just remembered, I don't know how to cook. Hmmm....guess that's why it's a fantasy. Oh, yeah, and I don't have a partner but I guess you knew that...
Six things I could never do without
Coffee, food, water, air, trees, the earth, bubble baths, soap, pushpins, tape, coffee, Tupperware-like products, gingerbread, my glasses, Swiss chocolate with whole hazelnuts, lube, a comfortable chair, rules of punctuation, window screens, throw pillows, table tennis, Irish step dancing, is that 6 yet? Did I say coffee? I guess I could do without some of these things but life just would not be the same.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Myself. Oh wait, maybe that sends the wrong signal. Well, okay, I said it--just being honest.

I try to spend some time every day being grateful for every thing I have in my life. Also, I try to have compassion for all people, even people I don't know or like.

Also, I think a lot about getting a dog but just can't--wouldn't be fair to the dog. I would consider dating someone I am not that into if he had a cool that so wrong?

I wonder if living in New Jersey is preventing me from finding a boyfriend. I wonder if the OK Cupid methodology is effective or if we can only really choose someone that we are compellingly attracted to by actually being in the same room with him.
On a typical Friday night I am
cooking a beautiful meal at home with my partner... oh, wait, there I go again with the fantasy thing...yeah, I don't really cook and don't have a partner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Shaved 2 years off my age on this site and do not feel bad about it at all. There, I said it...
You should message me if
You know how to cook...think your life would be better if you had someone to read the Sunday Times with...Love coffee to an obsessive degree...feel strongly about gingerbread... know a good taxidermist...have always felt funny about goats...are looking to fall in love, maybe with me... I want to hear from you if you are compellingly attracted to me and enthusiastic about meeting.
