My self-summary
Grew up in the Bronx, went away for art school and grad school, and now live in Queens. I love pretty much any kind of art, from classic literature to indie music to comic books, though the visual/fine arts are the most important to me. I don't really believe in the separation between "high" and "low" art forms- all types of expression are valid to me, and people who think otherwise tend to strike me as a bit pretentious.
I'm pretty easygoing- I rarely get angry, and I dislike conflict. I do love friendly debates, though. I tend to be a bit quiet, though I'm considerably more talkative with people I know well. I'm the sort of person who'd rather have three really close friends than dozens of more casual acquaintances. The people I do feel close to are worth the world to me.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in the creative department at a fairly large advertising firm in the city. I've always really enjoyed the visual arts, and for me, advertising is a powerful creative outlet. In my free time, I draw and paint a lot. I'd love to be able to create art full-time, but right now, advertising's perfectly stimulating.
I’m really good at
Drawing, and visual arts in general.
I'm pretty good at picking up new languages- I have a decent level of proficiency in Spanish, Italian, Russian, and German along with English.
I think I'm pretty good at seeing the best in everyone, or at least I try to be.

The six things I could never do without
A creative outlet.
Someone to share thoughts with.
A way to find inner peace.
A goal to strive for.
Something to stimulate my mind.
The ability to affect change, large or small.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Recently, I've gotten very interested in philosophy and have done a lot of reading. Ethics particularly interest me, and I tend to think of the different theories behind them often. For the record, I consider myself far more of a Kantian than an utilitarian, though both philosophies are flawed.
I also think about Batman a lot.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't whistle.
